Lorna couldn’t believe her Aunt had left her. It was bad enough she was never going to see her mom or step-dad again. Then her father cared more about being hated by the whole world than to be with his daughter even though her aunt wouldn’t admit the man was her father. Instead, she ended up in a small town with her aunt where everyone considered her the green haired freak and weirdo. It was the reason kids avoided her, parents wouldn’t let their kids hang out with her, and she was always on her own. Now here she was in some new strange place with some strange woman who claimed to be her daughter, and her aunt had left her with this woman. It didn’t matter this Dawn person said how her aunt was only going to be gone for a few days, she knew the truth and the woman was gone like everyone else. It had been a few days and still not even a call from her aunt, making Lorna even more upset since this woman had been the only real family she had left.
Checking outside the bedroom door, Lorna saw that Dawn was in the kitchen doing something. Shutting the door quietly, she locked the door, then moved to the window. Lorna needed to get out, and didn’t want a babysitter. Right now she just needed to sort all of this out in her head, especially the stuff Dawn had told her about them. Taking a deep breath, she only done this a few times and got hurt once during it cause she had still been learning. Climbing out the window, she caught herself with her powers and slowly lowered herself to the ground. Once the boots touched the ground, Lorna took off running and stopped once she was a good distance away from the apartments. Pushing a piece of her dark hair that hadn’t gone green yet behind her ear, she pulled her beanie a little more down to hide some of the green. This town had much more to offer than back home, which was a nice change compared to the nothing back in her old town. She had to try to remember no powers like her aunt was always telling her even if that was such a hard rule to follow. Then again she wasn’t here so did she really need to follow that one?
