Who: Nancy Gama & Open
What: Out for a walk.
Where: Out on the streets.
When: Tuesday evening.
Warnings: None at the moment but will update if this changes.
Status: Open, In progress.

Nancy was enjoying her night off or she had been until her mind started to slip into thinking about Ventura. Back home, she knew Keta, Elvis, and even Mariana were safe, but he wasn’t. She understood completely why he made the choice he did since he wanted to protect his daughter, but it sucked at the same time. He was...well it really didn’t matter anymore and Nancy knew better than to dwell on all that. Whenever she was finally sent back home, it wasn’t going to change anything. Ventura was gone, no more giving him a hard time about the whole priest thing, and she was going to need to help Elvis and Keta out with Mariana. Nancy didn’t need to know anything since she knew her two best friends, they’d take the little girl in without even a second thought. They did it with her, and she knew it’d be the same for Mariana, which was great since Nancy knew she could win the cool aunt title.

Sighing, Nancy knew she had to get away from her thoughts or they were going to be a real mood killer something she wasn’t in the mood for. Last thing she needed was to be in some weird limbo funk over something that couldn’t be changed. Needing to get her mind on something else that would keep her from falling into that weird limbo, she threw on a jacket and headed out for a walk. Nancy wasn’t sure where she was going, but she’d let her feet do the decision making for her, hoping she’d end up somewhere with food. If her feet really knew her, then they’d know where to take her, right?

Putting her headphones on, she turned up the music on her Ipod. Her music had always been the one thing to clear her head and get her back on track, hoping this would be like all the other times. No one had time for all those depressing thoughts or at least she didn’t. Slipping her Ipod back into her jacket pocket, she started her walk while letting the music play. Stopping every now and again to look in some windows at what was going on inside for her own curiosity sake more than anything.

Michael supposed that he was settling in to Madison Valley. He liked it here alright, even if he missed Max and Isobel, but he liked the fact that this place gave him a chance to be normal. Nobody here - well, except for weirdo-Liz - knew what he was, and he was good with that. After seeing what humans had done to his mother, he was okay if nobody ever found out that he was anything more than a mechanic. The thing he missed most here was his workshop. He'd worked on that for years, and had been getting so close to actually accomplishing something and maybe even getting the ship working again. Would he have used it to get home? He wasn't sure. His mother was dead, so was there really any place for him to go to? Was there a home for him somewhere up in the stars? There was no way to know for sure.

He'd gone out to grab some Hinkleburgers, and was on his way back to his apartment when he came around a corner and almost ran into a girl who was listening to music.

"Oh, hey," he said, a bit surprised. "Didn't see you there."

Nancy was glad that she had avoided running straight into the guy since the last thing she needed was her Ipod slipping out when she fell and breaking. No, that would be a horrible thing. Big time for her and possibly for this town if she ever lost control and ended up with a demon in her. With Marcos gone, she was back to square one on not having anyone who knew how to pull her back if she lost that control. But she was avoiding those thoughts since she didn’t need people knowing what she was since she knew how people felt about demons and she wasn’t quite sure yet who she trusted enough to let into her giant secret. So she was super glad her Ipod was safe.

Pulling off her headphones, she looked at the guy for a moment as she shook her head. “Sorry about that. I should’ve done the wide walk around when listening to my music.” Nancy had gotten used to not always running into people that she slipped away from her normal habits back in Mexico City, especially since people were dicks at times. Always thinking they owned the sidewalk, but Nancy hadn’t been thinking much about it since her mind had been trying to get off of certain people.

"Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have come around the corner so quick? Nobody's fault, really." Michael was obviously in an okay mood, since he didn't blame her automatically. Although he was less likely to fight girls, no matter what happened.

"Must be some good music, huh?"

He indicated her ear buds. "I'm wanting to get some of those little wireless ones, but they're a bit outside my price range at the moment."

“No one was hurt or anything dropped so yeah, I’d say everything is good and nobody’s fault. Things like this happen on these types of corners,” she said with a nod. Nancy was not someone who threw blame unless she knew it was their fault or she knew them well enough and it was to annoy. Most of the time she didn’t care as long as nothing ended up broken like her Ipod.

Nancy knew what he was talking about on the wireless ones even if they weren’t anything she’d ever end up getting. While they’d be fine here, she knew back in Mexico City they’d end up stolen, misplaced, or broken. No way in hell was she spending that type of money only to lose it if they went back with her.

“Si, I’d say it’s some awesome music, but that’s only because I’ve never been one to pick shitty,” she replied with a smirk. Though for a moment she was amused at the idea of someone admitting they picked shitty music. “I agree on them being out of the price range and also back home they’d be a bit pointless. I’ve had these for so long that I couldn’t part with them.” Also helped they were what worked with her. These ones and her have been through so many demons over the years, she couldn’t switch them up unless it was forced upon her.

"I mean, they'd be nice to have, but the wired ones work just as well," he said with a grin. He didn't know the other girl at all, but he could be ridiculously charming when he wanted to be. And he wanted to be right now. He didn't know how old she was so he wasn't going to hit on her - plus, he had enough going on in the romantic arena right now that he didn't want to overly complicated things. But charming her didn't hurt anyone.

"I'm Michael," he said, holding out a hand. Completely normal name. No reason to think that he was anything but completely normal.

“Both play the music just the wired ones can be a pain sometimes. A little more work than the other ones, but they serve the same purpose.” Then again with no wire, she’d have a better chance of them falling out of her ears if she was hit by a demon. These stayed on much better, which was another win in her category for them.

Nancy shook his hand once she made sure her music was turned off so it wasn’t blasting or playing through the charge. “Nancy, nice to meet you,” she told him with a smile. While Nancy wasn’t exactly a normal human, she left people alone on what they might be even when she could smell them as something different. Now if they shared, it was a different story; however, she never pushed on that topic since she had her own demons.

“What are you up to besides almost running into people?” The tone was joking and Nancy didn’t mean anything by it. Talking to someone was a little better than losing herself in her music for a bit, risking the chance her mind might go back to thinking about a certain priest.

"Just went out to get Hinkleburgers," he shrugged. "Got a bit hungry so went and bought some. That's the only reason I'm out." He usually wasn't out much, unless he was going to work or to a bar or to Maria's. He kind of liked to keep to himself, except for those three situations. He'd been hurt enough times that he didn't really trust people much.

"Great drunk food, eh?" They were, there was no doubt about that. There was also no doubt about the fact that Michael was completely sober. Didn't mean he was planning to stay that way for long, though.

“I’d say you picked well with your food considering Hinkle’s is an amazing place to hit around here,” she commented with a smirk. Then again anything greasy was top of Nancy’s list, but she also loved burgers and fries. Though her first choice would be Mexican food though none of the places here were like the Mexican food back home and it sucked. One thing if this was Mexican food as you knew it, but being from the country, it was a real let down. While she didn’t understand the not going out much, she left it alone since some people were ones who stayed in.

Not her, but that was partly since until this place the only time she ever had a ‘home’ was when she stayed with her friends. So never really did the not going out much.

“I think it’s great food in general, but big time when drunk. Getting ready for a fun night in or out?” Nancy was only going off of what she knew when people got drunk. She couldn’t since her body wouldn’t allow it, but she had seen enough drunk people to know they loved their greasy food.

"In. With a bottle of bourbon and some Hinkleburgers." That was kind of his life back home, although he could be found in a bar more frequently than he was here. He kind of wanted to go, though, and see how Maria was going, but that was awkward. She was a friend with benefits that he might have more feelings for than he should. And he was pretty sure she was in love with someone else, which made things even more awkward, when it came down to it.

"Maybe binge some netflix. Every person's dream, and I right?"

Yeah, there was definitely some sarcasm in there.

“Not a bad night though I’d switch out the bourbon for tequila,” she told him with a smirk. Nancy wasn’t a picky drinker, but she was more of a tequila girl than anything, which was in part since tequila was the drink everyone had back home. Though she really wasn’t at all picky considering most of the time she didn’t really have that chance.

Nancy could hear the sarcasm, but her voice was being honest with her answer. “Hey, I wouldn’t knock that life at all! It’s a nice chill and relaxing night,” Nancy was a fan, then again if it was an everyday type of day, she’d get bored. But having netflix around here was the best thing and might need to see about getting it back home if she ever made a steady paycheck. With the work she did with Elvis, it was very unlikely but a girl could always dream.

“Just got to make sure you pick something good to binge.”

"Or something bad enough to binge," he grinned. Because really, binging worked both ways. You either binged something that was so good that you couldn't stop, or you binged something so bad that you just couldn't pull your eyes from the screen because it was so terrible.

"But I'll find something, I'm sure." He grinned at her again. "Look, I need to get home before my burgers get cold but good luck not running into anyone else, eh?" He was clearly teasing.

“True but hopefully not bad enough to put you to sleep,” she told him with a smirk. Cause that would suck on wasting time and only falling asleep because it was super bad. Though she was only now getting to learn and deal with the binging things on Netflix, and she could understand why people were so into it like they were.

“Yeah, I was getting ready to say you should go eat your food while it’s hot,” she told him as she started to pull her headphones off around her neck to put them back on. “Good luck to you as well and if you ever get bored with Netflix and drinking at home then come on by Verdant. You can have drinks and I get to be social while working!” The guy was cool and Nancy had no problem being social while working so it was fine plus it meant business where she worked so yeah, it was a win. At that she put her headphones back on and turned the music back on.

[Wrap!]
