Liz was never one to feel pressured to 'fit in' as much as other people, but she didn't like standing out in a crowd either. She knew enough from observing other people that her tendency towards spaghetti straps, skirts, and shirt that hinted at your mid-drift were now, according to the network post she saw about the GSA dance 'retro'. It was an entirely bizarre concept, but she decided she should go find some actual clothes for school next week. Ones that wouldn't make her stand out so much.
However, as Liz walked through the clothing aisle - Roswell didn't even get a Walmart until five years ago and even then her father had been a big advocate of 'buying local' and they had never stepped foot into one. There were so many options it was a bit dizzying. There were shirts with phrases on them that she didn't understand. She passed by a shirt that said 'OK Boomer' and had no idea what that meant. She stopped at a shirt with sequence on it and was surprised when the sequence changed colour when smoothed the other way.
What really was confusing was the pants. She picked up another pair of leggings. Her brow furrowed. "Does nobody wear actual jeans anymore?"
