Lupin/Snape Fantasy Fest 2008! - Prompt Poll
When returning to this entry, please go to the end to see any possible updates.
What is a fantasy fest?
For our purposes, a fantasy fest is when members of lupin_snape submit a Lupin/Snape fantasy prompt in a 255-character poll for both fic and art, and the poll requests are then posted and claimed by writers and artists who will return to the community a story or piece of art based on the prompt they claimed. The fest will run in July and August this year, and we are adding the concept of "short" prompts.
While any prompt can inspire any length of fic or detailed piece of art, some writers and artists asked specifically for "shorter" ideas this year. Short prompts in the poll only have 125 characters available. Minimum word count for any writer is still 1000 words, but artists choosing from the "short" prompts may offer a sketch instead of something more complete. This means any one person can offer up to 4 prompts.
The prompt poll is locked so that only mods can see the prompts, although anyone can put prompts into the poll. The prompts will be listed for claiming without prompter's names attached. The idea of fantasy fest is foremost to offer inspiration while also fulfilling someone's wish. Prompter's names will be revealed in the masterlist. This is to keep the focus on the ideas and not on individuals. Fantasy Fest is not an exchange.
Deadline for filling out the prompts poll: Thursday, July 10, 11:59 p.m. EST
How do I make a fantasy request?
Fill out the poll! Anyone may submit a fantasy prompt in both the story and art categories or only in one or the other - this includes members who are planning to create for the fest. All I ask is that you keep your prompts appropriate to your age - under 18, do not ask for fantasies rated higher than R.
Here is an example of a typical long prompt (206 characters): Remus is also an expert at Occlumency/Legilimency, only Snape doesn't know it and Remus decides to start using his skills against Snape. Dirty talk and desperation a bonus, Happy ending a must!
Here is an example of an under-18 short prompt (125 characters): Snape has trouble with a Slytherin student & Remus helps him w/the issues. Snape also learns something about Remus. A kiss. Female student. Under 18.
Here is an example of a long art prompt (241 characters): Remus on his knees in bed - naked, one hand braced on the headboard, the other used to finger himself... he's looking down (or up) at a photo of Severus (nude) and doesn't notice that Severus is coming into the room behind him, taking off his clothes and getting ready to join Remus on the bed...
Here is an example of a short art prompt for under-18 (85 characters): S/R kissing under a full moon with Harry looking shocked in the background. Under 18.
Although all examples are under 255 characters, you can pack as much into your prompts as you like, as long as they can still make sense to the person claiming them. We will assume all prompts are Snape/Lupin, so no need to put that unless you are requesting a threesome. I suggest you write a prompt that's going to make a creator want to claim it - don't be afraid to reveal your specific preferences in making your prompts.
Suggested Abbreviations:
S = Snape
R = Remus
-18 = under 18
PoA, HBP, etc.
Any limitations?
• Fantasy does not necessarily equal sex. This is an all-ages community, so prompts can vary from G - NC17.
• If you are under 18 years of age, you must say so in your prompt and your prompt must reflect that.
• One prompt per category per member - no sock-puppet journals, no RPG journals.
• Threesomes can be requested as long as the prompt clearly makes Lupin/Snape equal or dominant.
• No requesting art or stories based on existing art or stories. The idea of a fantasy fest is to generate new ideas.
Can requests be thrown out? Yes.
• I will throw out prompts if you are under 18 and do not say so in your prompts.
• I will throw out prompts for stories/art of an overtly sexual nature if you are under 18.
• I will throw out prompts that do not focus on Snape/Lupin.
• I will throw out all your prompts if I find out you have used other journals to make more than one.
• I will throw out prompts that do not make sense (too abbreviated) - but I will try to contact you for clarification if you put it in early.
• I will combine prompts that are identical in nature, attributing it to both requesters.
Disclaimers, Warnings:
I set the under-age limit at under 18 because that is the age a person becomes responsible for him/herself in the United States. I understand that some countries allow people to take responsibility for themselves at younger ages, however, I needed to set a cut-off for my own sanity, and I know I would feel uncomfortable writing smut for someone 17 or younger regardless of what country the person lived in.
I have helpers in figuring out things like who made extra prompts or who is under-age. If an adult story or art piece is produced for someone who is under-age and I find out later, I will ban that person who was under 18 from the community, no questions asked, doesn't matter if you turn 18 before I find out. If you have a question about your prompt, go ahead and run it by me through a post here or in e-mail. I will try to respond, although I'm fine with other people answering if they have insight.
No Hard Feelings:
Again, not every prompt will be claimed. We have hundreds of members and about 100 semi-active creators. Maybe less. If you feel like your prompt not being chosen in the claiming rounds is going to make you feel upset, you might want to reconsider making a prompt. This community is such a wonderful place, I know this probably won't be an issue, but I'm saying it anyway for the benefit of new members who might not have had a chance to participate in a fantasy fest before.
