Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Amelia and OPEN
WHEN: October 13th; Later
WHERE: Hufflepuff Common Room to start
WHAT: Amelia is not happy about her brother being not happy. So she's taking a little time to just vent/rant/talk/whatever!
RATING: TBD, but likely low

Amelia Bones was mad. Well, perhaps mad was a bit extreme. She was unsettled. The whole journal thing had gotten entirely out of control. She had no idea why Ed was being so...so...infuriating! Of course she was used to him being overprotective, and most of the time she indulged it because she loved him to pieces, but this was a bit overboard. Mia wasn't sure if it was the flirting or the comment about Trish, but something had set him off big time. She wanted to fix it, but now he wasn't speaking to her OR Trish. Or Tibby, for that matter. The whole thing had spiraled and now she felt awful. Not about flirting with Tibby, however. She just didn't want Ed to be mad at anyone, least of all Trish. It was something she didn't know how to fix, and when Amelia didn't know how to fix something, she became a bit sullen. Her room suddenly seemed to stifling, and she could not look at her journal any longer. Hestia wasn't around just then, which meant she had no one to rant to. At least not if she stayed in her room.

Closing the book, she sighed heavily as she sat up from her sprawled position across the mattress. Pulling her hair back into a ponytail, she decided to head down into the common room. It was late, but Mia wasn't sure if it was past curfew or not. Hopefully there were some people milling about down there that she could talk to, even though she wouldn't spill her feelings and thoughts about this whole thing to just anyone. Company would be better than sulking alone, though. Her initial arrival in the common area was disappointing. Mia didn't see anyone, but she felt better having move away from the frustration. It was a start. Taking a seat in one of the large cushioned chairs by the window, she glanced out, trying not to obsess over what had happened as she contemplated leaving to wander the castle a bit.

Amos sighed again, knowing full well that Amelia was right. They were supposed to be friends, so it was most definitely weird that Tiberius hadn't said anything. Unfortunately, despite it being the truth, it hadn't lifted his mood any to acknowledge it.

He beamed up at her, though, when she returned his playful messing around. Probably wouldn't be the greatest thing ever if anyone else showed up now and got the wrong idea, mind...

Amelia could tell that he was bothered by whatever was being kept from him. She would feel the same way if one of her friends did the same thing to her. "I'm sorry. I know it's not easy to acknowledge," she said gently, feeling bad for point out the obvious to Amos. It was good that he could still tease and play around, but she didn't want him to think she wasn't concerned with whatever was making him upset.

"And don't give me that cheeky grin. I know better than to believe that innocent look." Mia didn't think there was anything wrong with having fun with a friend, though she probably should've been wary after the discussion on her journal.

Amos didn't feel bitter in any way due to what Amelia was saying. He knew that she was only doing what a good person would - acknowledging that it was something causing him worry and reassuring him that he wasn't being unreasonable in showing his concern. He appreciated the support even if it didn't make him feel much better about the situation.

"Oh you do, do you?" he asked pointedly as he began to try and forget the whole thing.

"I most certainly do. I am onto you, Amos Diggory," she informed him, as if that was some grand feat. Amelia got the feeling that he was trying to forget about everything that was bothering him. That seemed like a good idea to her, since she had originally come down here to cheer herself up. Despite knowing what was behind it, Amos' smile was entirely too adorable. If she had been in a less playful mood, she might let him think he'd tricked her with that look even.

"Onto me? What precisely have I done, pray tell?" Amos enquired, leaning over and beginning to mercilessly tickle Amelia's side.

Amelia nodded solemnly, though her eyes were dancing with amusement. "Yes, onto you! I'm not sure, but you know," she started to explain, but the words cut off in an abrupt squeal as Amos began tickling her sides mercilessly. Which, of course, spurred a wriggling and giggling Mia into action.
