Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!incomplete, amelia bones, arthur weasley, dorcas meadowes, fabian prewett, gideon prewett, hestia jones, james potter, kira fenwick, lily evans, remus lupin, septima vector, sirius black

Characters: Gryffindors and/or anyone friendly with the Marauders, even in passing, including friends of friends of friends...the more, the merrier!
Setting: Gryffindor common room, after dinner on Sunday, 31 October
Content: NSFW, likely, for mentions of drunken debauchery by underage witches and wizards. And probably also costumes that are, erm, less than proper.
Summary: It is Sirius Black's birthday, and you know what that means!

One of Sirius' favourite things about his birthday was that it was Halloween. Some people might have resented sharing their birthday with a holiday, but not Sirius. For him, the addition of Halloween just gave him an excuse to make his annual party even larger than it would have been already.

Once he had rolled out of bed midmorning, eaten brunch, and downed some hangover potion, he had spent at least a fair portion of the afternoon getting ready for the party. He went down to Hogsmeade one last time to pick up some treats from Honeydukes', then, along with the other Marauders, kicked everybody out of the common room and started work. They enlarged the room a bit with magic, pushed all the tables and chairs to the perimeter of the room, put up several magical and somewhat frightening decorations, asked the house-elves to send up some refreshments, and prepared their impressive store of alcohol. Sirius also sweet-talked the Fat Lady into letting any and all partygoers into the common room for the evening, regardless of password knowledge, except those who weren't wearing masks (since enchanted masks were his requirement of the year, after all).

Once everything was set, Sirius headed back up to his dormitory to change into his costume, then returned to the common room with his mates and waited for the partygoers to drift in as dinner finished.

[OOC note: As mentioned in a couple of entries, enchanted masks are the rule of the party! The Fat Lady won't let you in if you aren't wearing one! The deal with the masks is they've got a mild confundus charm on them, so the wearer won't be recognized, even if they normally would be. If someone has already told you who they are, or you know what they're wearing, then you will recognize them, but other than that, you don't know who anyone wearing a mask is!

Also, feel free to reply to this in multiple subthreads, just like at the ball. This is a big party, and it's not ALL about Sirius, much as he'd like to think so ;) Feel free to godmod Sirius as welcoming your characters, offering them drinks, etc, and if you want to include him in a thread, you don't need to ask me, just go right on ahead! I'd make location comments, but the common room's not really big enough. Let me know if you have any questions!]

Lily/James

At this point in the evening, Lily's judgment was seriously impaired. The alcohol was having an effect, as was her earlier decision to let tonight be a night of risk-taking, and that combined with her natural Gryffindor personality might be a recipe for disaster, were it not James that she was currently with.

Were she not more than a little tipsy, that would be an interesting realisation for Lily to have. After all, James certainly came off as a cavalier sort of bloke, perhaps a bit irresponsible, immature on his best days...all in all, not the sort of person you would trust entirely, and yet, Lily did. She knew that there was a lot more to James than the way he presented himself, and in addition, while he was suffering from memory loss, she had had a conversation with him that had led to her admitting that yes, she probably did love him. If she both loved and trusted him, what reason did she have to guard herself around him?

Logic aside, Lily was sort of losing herself in James' kisses anyway. She continued to cling tightly to James as they kissed, trying to keep his body and hers pressed as tightly together as she could. When James pulled away, she couldn't help but pout just a little bit, though he did kiss that away rather quickly. It also helped that he had apparently had just broken the kiss to suggest that they continue this somewhere more private, and Lily found herself very amenable to this suggestion.

Before she could answer, though, she felt James lift her off the ground. She couldn't help but let out a rather high-pitched noise of surprise, wrapping her arms still more tightly around James' shoulders and also settling her legs around his torso for support. After she had a moment to settle, though, she relaxed, enjoying the feel of James' warm hands supporting her legs. As James kissed her again, she shifted her arms so that one was drooped more loosely around his shoulders, pressed against his back, and the other was wound in his hair once more.

Lily continued to kiss him like this for some time before breaking the kiss and moving both her hands to cup his face gently. "Come on," she said quietly, moving her hands to his shoulders and using that grip, as well as the wall behind her, to slowly shift to her feet. Lily was already missing the feel of James' body against her own, not to mention his kisses, but she tried to keep her resolve strong. After all, she would feel better knowing that the two of them were in private. Lily straightened her skirt, then took James' hand and, with a smirk over her shoulder, led him through the crowded common room.

In the middle of the common room, Lily stopped, rather abruptly. She turned around, used James' tie to tug him down to her level, and then kissed him deeply, but after a moment, broke the kiss just as abruptly as she had initiated it. She grinned as she pulled away, then kept leading James, not letting go of his hand until they were both outside the portrait hole.
