Who: Molly and Percy Weasley
Where: Percy's cottage.
When: Backdated to when he offers to show her Loretta.
What: Molly meets up with her son and her daughter(?)

Molly had packed some muffins that she'd made earlier and also a pie in a basket. She had her usual slightly shabby looking ensemble on, because she still wasn't entirely wealthy even in Lockewood. She didn't mind, though, because she'd been able to make do for years.

The prospect of possibly having another child here was a surprising one but it was one she would welcome, and if Percy wanted her to take Loretta off his hands, she was happy to do so. But she didn't want to do that unless Percy absolutely wanted it, because she of all people knew how children had a habit of growing on people.

The basket in her hands, she walked up to Percy's door and knocked on it. It was a reasonable day out but it was unnervingly quiet around. Quieter than she was used to.

Molly instantly saw that Percy was in a state of distress. A true mother saw through the handsome exterior and saw the rings under his eyes, the relief that had flooded through them, and she recognised all too well what had caused the relief to flood over his face, and the rings under his eyes.

She came in, but not before giving her third eldest son a warm hug, smiling as she did so.

"I'm so glad to see you, dear," she said, keeping her voice low enough for him to hear, but still not high enough to disturb Loretta. She passed the basket.

"How is she?" she asked, getting right down to the brass tacks of the situation.

	Percy couldn't return the hug, but he could give his mother a peck on the cheek when she leaned in. Her presence in Lockewood was a huge comfort. Even though she was younger, she was still Mum. The basket of bread only underscored that fact. "I think she's finally cried herself to sleep," he said, mustering a smile. "Do you want to hold her?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The last time she saw Percy it was a month after the war, and he had been around a lot making up for his absence, and making sure everyone was safe. It had been the hardest years of her life when he'd been pro-Ministry and anti-his family, but the one good thing that came out of the war (apart from Harry vanquishing Lord Voldemort) was that he came back to them.

"Of course," she smiled. She thought the baby rather looked like Ginny, which was a little absurd because apparently Ginny was already here... somewhere. Though she hadn't actually seen her yet.

Slowly, and with the utmost care, Percy lifted the baby and deposited her into his mother's arms. "Thank you, she hasn't let me put her down in hours," he said, massaging the feeling back into his hands.

"I'm not sure what it is – she's not always this fussy," Percy explained, pressing his lips into the thin line of a frown. "Do you think there's something wrong with her? Should I take her to the hospital and have her looked over?"

Molly let the girl rest in her arms, holding her with the expertise that only a mother who had cared for numerous children before could muster. The little girl struggled just slightly before her movements slowed slightly, Molly bouncing her very gently and humming a little under her breath.

"She's fine," Molly said, a bit distantly, because she was distracted by how much the girl was reminding her of Ginny, "I think she has been sleeping with too much warmth over her, and she's a little distressed because of it."

Still holding her, Molly removed a layer of the bedclothes, which still left enough for the girl to be reasonably warm, but not stiflingly so.

"I made the same mistake with Bill, but then again, be glad you're not caring for Bill, he was rather rambunctious." Molly chuckled, before smiling fondly at the girl, then at Percy.

"You're doing a wonderful job."
