WHO: Roxanne & Gellert
WHERE: The lake
WHEN: Early afternoon
WHAT: Swimtimez?
RATING: Low
Swimming had always been a favourite thing for Roxie when she was younger. There was a river close to where she'd grown up, and she spent many summer days there as a child. Every once in a while Roxie had braved the lake at Hogwarts, but that was a rare occurrence. Mostly because of the giant squid. It had never bothered Roxie, and was seemingly perfectly friendly, but one could never know. There were horror stories of children who had been swallowed whole, but Roxie was pretty damn sure those were just myths. Hogwarts wouldn't be allowed to keep a man-eating squid in their lake, would they? Yeah... it was just safer if she hardly swam there. Besides, that lake was awfully cold!
Today, Roxie was in bright spirits. Her job was still pretty easy, and her health was bouncing back. In fact, she felt healthier than she had in years! Of course, she was likely just over-exaggerating, since her illness was so horrid. Regardless, it was nice keeping food down. And the sun! Roxie couldn't remember the last time she'd spent so many days in the sun. It was almost as if when everyone was happy the sun shone, and when everyone was sad or fighting it rained. No matter who told Roxanne otherwise, this was the theory she was bound to believe. When certain things got inside Roxie's head, they never left. Such as chess strategies and nicknames.
Bouncing towards the lake, Roxie squinted and looked for Gellert. She really didn't notice anyone around the lake, so she sauntered closer. With a smile, Roxie moved to the edge and put her toes in the water. No ripples, no movement; maybe there wasn't anything in this lake after all. Bending over, Roxie played with the water with her hand, sending ripples throughout the lake. She could see to the other side, and watched as far as the ripples traveled. What was it about water that could entertain Roxie for hours on end? Picking up a stone, Roxie tossed it in her hand and then skipped it across the water. One skip, not bad for her first time. While she waited for Gellert, Roxie continued to skip rocks.
