Roxanne would have been completely appalled by polar bear dips. Of course, she would have participated, but she would have hated every second of it. One or twice she'd gone swimming in the fall, and that had been enough. Luckily for her, the lake at Hogwarts froze. Or at least, the top layer did. No one had come up with the bright idea of making a hole, and for that Roxanne was glad. Swimming in the dead of winter? That was absolutely ridiculous! Especially with the sort of bathing suits girls were meant to wear nowadays. They could hardly be called bathing suits, half of them covered less than bras and knickers! At the moment, Roxie had on a pair of shorts and loose t-shirt, but it was likely to give Gellert a near heart attack when she started stripping them off to reveal a 21st century itty bitty bikini.
The voice beside her caused Roxie to jump. It was foolish, for she knew someone was approaching. She blamed it on evolution, because that 'fight or flight' rush of adrenalin was always pumping in Roxie. Turning to look at Gellert, a bright smile was present on Roxie's face. Not that it was surprising, the dark girl was always smiling. "You don't have a Weasley's touch, that's why. All the kids at school were nothing in comparison to us. I donno what it is, but all of us who have picked up rocks skip it at least once. My record is six. That happened once and never again. Lucky my dad was there, else no one would have believed me!" Roxie giggled at the memory, all her cousins had fought til their faces were blue, but she'd had a witness. It wasn't a lie, and no one could take it away from her.
"So, swimming?" Roxie asked. Without an answer, she wiggled out of her shorts and yanked off her t-shirt. Her bikini was a bright blue colour, with diagonal white stripes. She didn't know where it came from, it had just been in her closet one day. Luckily it wasn't one of those hideous old ones, so Roxie hadn't complained. Taking a deep breath, Roxie charged forwards into the water. In her experience, it was always better to just get things over with fast! The cold water took her breath away, and she didn't quite make it all the way into the water. "Eep!" she cried, laughter following. "I'd say come on in, it's nice... but that would be a lie."
