Who: Tom Riddle and Bellatrix Black
When: Sunday evening.
Where: Bellatrix's home.
What: A step in the wrong direction.
Status/Rating: Incomplete, TBD

Tom was disappointed in the lack of Bellatrix Lestrange in his life. She had been here many times before and all of those times he had to seek her out. This time, he had waited for her. For her to show her devotion to him. The so-called devotion she had for him in the future. But she had never come and Tom was left disappointed.

Sure, he was much younger here. But that didn't mean he was any less powerful. Bellatrix should have felt privilaged to have him in her presence. And he was going to make her see just what she was missing out on.

He arrived at her doorstep and knocked on the door, waiting for her to answer.

It was a rare thing for Bellatrix's hospitality to waver, but the shock of seeing the most powerful dark wizard of all time at her doorstep had been enough to make her forget herself. "Yes, of course. Do you have a preference?" She smiled at him as she took a step back toward the kitchen, before hesitating.

"My Lord... I must ask, how do you wish me to address you?"

"My preference depends on what you might have, Miss Black." Tom smiled at her. He was still a far cry from what he might be in the future mentally. He didn't feel the need to completely over power her or to be disrespectful. Not until she gave him a good reason.

Tom looked her over for a moment, then smiled. "What is it that you wish to address me as, Bellatrix? This is, after all, Lockewood. I suppose if you were to go around calling me your Lord, people may become suspicious."

"It would seem Godric and I have accumulated most everything this town has to offer." Alcohol made the company of this village much easier to deal with. Bellatrix preferred to pretend they didn't exist, until she needed them for something or other. "Firewhiskey seems popular at the moment." He had smiled at her. Bella would have to tell Rodolphus of this meeting.

"Tom seems most fitting, I suppose." Though she could hardly imagine addressing him as such. It seemed unnatural, far too simplistic for a man such as he.

"Yes. For public settings." Tom told her with a slight shrug. He moved towards her and looked around. "While we're alone I'd still prefer to be called Lord."

Tom hummed. This meeting didn't seem to be going as he'd expected. The last Bellatrix he had met had been so... frantic. Mad. This one seemed so calm and proper. It didn't settle well with him. "Are you practiced well in the Unforgivables, Bellatrix?"

"Yes, of course," she agreed, ducking her head slightly. Had Voldemort only learned of his future through readings as she had of her own? Did he know his true power yet? The way he carried himself certainly gave the impression.

"Yes, my Lord. My father taught me from a young age." This was something her mother had absolutely not been pleased about, but as Bellatrix's fondness for the dark arts had blossomed, it was difficult not to satiate her curiosity.

"Very good." Tom told her as he looked around her house. For all he knew, Skeeter had every house in the village bugged so she could listen in on their every conversation. He'd poked around the surveillance items in the store in town. How else would she know everything?

"They should come in handy, should I ever ask of you anything, yes?" Tom ran his eyes over her. "You see, Bellatrix. People tend to think that people our age are not as strong as they may be in their future. I'm sure you've thought the same, yes? Seeing me as this I couldn't possibly possess any great magic. But don't be fooled. I've already done great things. And I wish to do great things with you."
