Who: Millicent and the Minister
What: What about a spot of infringing on civil liberties? Good for the complexion!
Where: Cads' office of infinite justice!
When: Evening, when all the work really gets done around here
Rating: Conceptually tame, linguistically suspect
Really, it wasn't until home-time ticked around the general masses buggered off for the day and stopped bothering her with ridiculous questions, demands, and trivia that Millicent felt like she actually started getting anything done. Not to mention that sometimes it was hard to move with all the people around and it was so much easier to find her own damn files and not wait for fifteen minutes while the snooty bloody file clerks made her fill out a form and then still looked in the wrong place. Plus she could take off her stupid shoes.
So yes, Millicent was still well and truly in the Ministry - and planning to be there a few hours more - when a request came through, and she took the file she'd just liberated along with her, flipping through the information therein as she padded barefoot down the halls (another thing you couldn't do when they were clogged up with miscellaneous people). She rapped her knuckles against the Minister's office door, nudged it further open and didn't even look up until she leaned around it and said, "Eloise mentioned you wanted to see me?"
