getcho' party hats here!
Who: All the Boston-Elite
What: Black Tie Ball
Where: Shangri-La Hotel on an off-coast Island
When: MARCH 10; 7pm
Rating: TBD
Open? to EVERYONE!

It takes a lot of pull to get heavy hitters from all sides in one place. Most would never dream of stepping foot somewhere where they are not guaranteed the upper hand. Then again, when you're in a power struggle, it never hurts to show up at a fund raising party where it is much, much easier to make sure law officials and other men with power might just lean on your side. Everyone gets a little more chatty with a few drinks in them.

The old renovated hotel is located just fifteen miles off the coast of Boston Harbor. While not open for business, they have turned the entire downstairs into a huge ballroom. The upstairs has been roped off due to renovations still going on, rather preferring to keep the guests in secured areas. In a building built in the 1900's, it's a scene straight out of an old movie. Antique chandeliers hang from the ceiling, with a large fully stocked bar against one wall, and tables lining around a massive dance floor in the middle. Servers are dressed in the "penguin suit" attire, their entire purpose to make the party perfect for the guests.

Nothing less than black ties, tuxedos, and designer gowns is expected, and everyone will just see who has the deepest pockets in Boston. Everything is set and polished, ready for what promises to be the event of the season.

(mod note; feel free to put up threads from anywhere in the noted areas, or even with your characters on the launch boats on the way over. In the 'subject' line of your thread, make sure to put who it is open to, and where your character is. Threads will go up at NOON tomorrow, starting the storm/blackout. Sunday is when the NPC guests will start disappearing. This drama can and will go on into next week, but for schematics of the game, it will all be taking place on "March 10", over the course of the evening/night/morning. HAVE FUN! )

She shook his hand firmly, before returning her attention briefly to her drink, peering over her glass and appraising her current company - usually she could tell straight away if somebody would make for good conversation, but she couldn’t really tell with this one; he was young and good looking, which should make for good company, but Tilda knew well enough that sometimes that wasn’t enough. He was also a business man, which could also be a conversational downer; young businessmen could be very self-centered. Well at the very least he knew not to take all the credit, “I’m Tilda” she replied offering only her first name.

To take credit for everything would be completely foolish on his part considering he hadn't been the one to start the business in the first place or even stick around the main base of operations to see everything went according to plan. There were people in Italy - trusted associates and family - who could take care of things there while he took care of business in the States primarily. He didn't crush the grapes, didn't sow the seeds, didn't do anything but manage and take those risky ventures to expand business.

"Pleasure to meet you, Tilda." He nodd as he pulled his hand back to let it rest casually in his pocket. The lack of a last name didn't so much concern him -- Simply made him curious as to who she was, what she did for a living, why she was there, if she had any mutual connections and all the sort of things that could potentially place her at the hotel for such an event. For all the faces that he did know in the city, there were just as many - if not more - that he didn't know.

"Enjoying your evening so far?" Tristan asked, keeping the conversation off business and simply making small talk until he could figure out something a little more interesting to made conversation about that wasn't business or himself. Self-centered? Surely, but even he could make some attempt at setting that attitude on the back-burner.
