getcho' party hats here!
Who: All the Boston-Elite
What: Black Tie Ball
Where: Shangri-La Hotel on an off-coast Island
When: MARCH 10; 7pm
Rating: TBD
Open? to EVERYONE!

It takes a lot of pull to get heavy hitters from all sides in one place. Most would never dream of stepping foot somewhere where they are not guaranteed the upper hand. Then again, when you're in a power struggle, it never hurts to show up at a fund raising party where it is much, much easier to make sure law officials and other men with power might just lean on your side. Everyone gets a little more chatty with a few drinks in them.

The old renovated hotel is located just fifteen miles off the coast of Boston Harbor. While not open for business, they have turned the entire downstairs into a huge ballroom. The upstairs has been roped off due to renovations still going on, rather preferring to keep the guests in secured areas. In a building built in the 1900's, it's a scene straight out of an old movie. Antique chandeliers hang from the ceiling, with a large fully stocked bar against one wall, and tables lining around a massive dance floor in the middle. Servers are dressed in the "penguin suit" attire, their entire purpose to make the party perfect for the guests.

Nothing less than black ties, tuxedos, and designer gowns is expected, and everyone will just see who has the deepest pockets in Boston. Everything is set and polished, ready for what promises to be the event of the season.

(mod note; feel free to put up threads from anywhere in the noted areas, or even with your characters on the launch boats on the way over. In the 'subject' line of your thread, make sure to put who it is open to, and where your character is. Threads will go up at NOON tomorrow, starting the storm/blackout. Sunday is when the NPC guests will start disappearing. This drama can and will go on into next week, but for schematics of the game, it will all be taking place on "March 10", over the course of the evening/night/morning. HAVE FUN! )

Leoben let out a soft, casual, chuckle, "Just something you whipped up last minute?" he said with a knowing smirk. Eyes moving to the dance floor, which currently held many couples gracefully twirling around the room, he raised his chin slightly. Raising the champagne flute to his lips he took another sip to finish his drink, "Why thank you! I'd rather look European than anything else" he said with a small laugh.

Nodding his head towards the center of the room Leoben’s smug smirk morphed into a somewhat playful one, “How about we show these people how it’s done?” he asked, taking a step back so he could abandon his empty glass on a nearby table. Returning to her side he held one hand behind his back as he bowed slightly, offering her his hand to dance.

Dancing would have been the last thing she would have expected out of this evening. Correctly, dancing with Leoben would have been the last. She laughed out, swallowing down the est of her drink. Why the bloody hell not, she thought to herself. She set down the now empty glass. "Show them how we do it across the pond." she said, taking his hand.

She smiled. She only hoped that she didnt do anything too embarrassing while she was dancing. She usually had really good coordination, but not under pressure. She glanced around at others dancing, and they had nothing on them. He placed on hand on his shoulder, and the other against his hand.
