Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who EVERYONE!
What: Charity Event; Live Auction!
When: Starting @ 6pm
Where: Boston Harbor Hotel
Open? Yes!

The Boston Harbor Hotel had grown in reputation over the last few years, and had easily become a popular spot to host lavish parties, ones that looked out over the Boston Harbor. Another reputation the hotel had garnered for itself was its work with charity organizations. Parties generally coincided with reputable charities, and often joined with such establishments as the Boston Medical Center or the Police Department.

Tonight's event was celebrating the ten year anniversary of the hotel's first unveiling in Boston. The elite of the city were invited to dine and dance in the biggest ballroom the hotel had to offer. But in a town with rivaling mob families, it's only a matter of time before civility runs out.

[[ooc: auction will be announced later if that is indeed what y'all want to do!]]

Cooper was beginning to get a little bored with the crowd, his mind already thinking of something that he could do to throw a little bit of mayhem into the pot. Nothing big of course, but just perhaps a little bit to stir the pot, anyway. He glared down at his now-empty glass of whiskey as if it had insulted him by having no more of the liquor in it, but before he could get more than a couple of steps away from the wall, he'd collided into someone, his hands immediately dropping his glass and reaching out to catch her before she fell to the floor. In the process, her drink had gone all over her.

"No worries. You did more damage to yourself." He said, smirking a little as he thought that he could oh so easily grab a napkin and help her out, but instead he just reached behind him to a table and handed her one, rather than offering to put his hands all over her. "Cassie, I see you're still as big of a klutz as you ever were." He teased, grinning widely at her. It'd been a while, what with her moving away and him heading off to the military, but Cooper wasn't the kind of guy for big tearful reunions.

[ooc - I figured he'd know her since she grew up around the Connellys ;) ]

At the sound of the man's voice that she ran into, Cassie glanced up. She was mostly shocked because he knew her name. As she landed eyes on him, her smile grew. "Well, as I live and breathe. Cooper Connelly. I never expected to see you at one of these little charity shindig things," she said, taking the napkin he offered her and brushing her hair off her shoulders, using said napkin to dry off her chest. There wasn't much she could do about the dress, short of going into the bathroom and using one of those air dryers. She'd done it before. But she honestly didn't really care all that much. it wasn't one of her favorite dresses, and it was just vodka so it wouldn't stain. Clear liquor was the best kind of liquor.

After finishing with the drying off of her chest, she scrunched the napkin up in her hand and shoved it into the now empty glass she held in her hand. Returning her attention from her chest back to Cooper, she gave him a smile. "I haven't seen you..." she trailed off, trying to think of the last time she had seen him. She honestly didn't think she'd seen him since she moved away when she was eight. "...probably since I moved away," she said, tilting her head to the side. "You look exactly the same. Just beefier," she teased, poking his upper arm. The same crush she had on Matt, she also had one on Cooper. But she never said anything. She was just shy little Cassie McKinley back then. Nothing like the woman she was now.

{ooc: that works for me! =p}

Catching the eye of a passing waitress, he signaled for a couple more drinks and gave her a charming smile. Turning his attention back to Cassie, he gave her a little smirk and shrugged at her comment, doing his best to be a 'good boy' and not blatantly check her out. No matter how hard he tried though, he couldn't help his eyes from scanning over her. One miss Cassie McKinley had grown up quite a bit over the years.

His eyes caught hers again and he grinned widely at her comment. "Yeah, it's been a while." He shrugged a little and cocked his head to the side. "Yeah, the military does that to a kid." He said with another little shrug of his shoulders. "You look good..." He trailed off, his lips curving into a smirk. "A lot hotter than I remembered."

Cassie nodded as he agreed that it had been awhile. She crossed her arms across her chest, ignoring her wet bodice for the moment. She mimicked him, tilting her head to the side as well. "Military, eh? That doesn't surprise me. Not in the least," she said, shaking her head. Cooper always struck her as someone who'd eventually do something of that nature. Her smile grew as he told he she looked good, and that she was hotter than he remembered. She snickered, shrugging.

"Well, you haven't seen me since I was eight years old. I don't even think I had boobs back then, so I'd imagine I look a hell of a lot different in that regard," she said, glancing down at her own chest momentarilly before she returned her gaze to him. "And hanging out with all you boys was turning me into a horrible tomboy. So maybe it was a good thing I ended up moving away," she teased, tilting her head to the side. "You're definitely easy on the eyes, too," she complimented, her eyes scanning him once more. He had grown up too, and damn. Just ... damn.

Cooper chuckled a little at her comment about the military and nodded. "Yeah well, I had to do something after high school, and I wasn't about to go through four years of college bullshit." True, he didn't want to go to college, even though Andrew had said it would have been smart. He didn't care, and he hadn't wanted to go that route. College, as far as he was concerned, was a cop-out for people who were too scared to take on the real world. He shrugged a little and momentarily turned his attention to the waitress who had brought them fresh drinks. He nodded his thank-you before taking a large sip of his whiskey.

"This is true. How you survived us, I really have no clue, but kudos to you." He said, tipping his glass toward her a little with a smirk. His cousins were the kids on the block who tormented the girls who tried to hang out with them, but Cassie was one of the few who actually held her own. He chuckled a little at her comment about him and gave her a nod of thanks as he brushed some imaginary lint from his lapels. "So what have you been up to, McKinley?"

Cassie's smile grew, and she nodded. "Yeah, I avoided that college bullshit too," she said. She ran her hand through her hair. As the waitress brought back their drinks, she took hers and gave her a small smile. She took a long sip of her drink, closing her eyes as she did so. Once she moved the glass away from her lips, she laughed at his comment.

"Yeah, well, running with you boys affected me more than I thought it did. Because I ended up being quite the troublemaker down in Florida with my aunt and uncle. I think I made them regret taking me in," she laughed. "I was sneaking out all the time, getting into fights, all that fun stuff," she said, shaking her head. "I guess I missed you guys more than I thought I did, since I'm back here. Where the winters are fucking freezing. I could have stayed down in Florida where they're nice and warm, but noo," she smiled.

"We're just cool like that, huh?" He said, smirking a little at her comment of not going on to college. He would have gone nuts if he kept on going through more and more school. He hated that shit, and thought of himself as smart - just in other ways.

Cooper grinned at her and nodded. "That I believe. Your poor family." He chuckled, shaking his head a little before he sipped at his whiskey. "Sounds like you have a little bit of Connelly in you." He said with a crooked grin, picturing her getting into all kinds of trouble, mostly what she would have been doing in their company had she stayed. He laughed at her mention of the winders and nodded. "Yeah, well, Boston has better sports teams, and a little snow never hurt anybody." He said with a shrug, smirking at her as he said it.

"Pfft, of course. Everyone else wishes they were as cool as the two of us," she laughed, shaking her head. She tilted her head to the side and took him in once more, smiling. Coop really had grown up, it was sort of strange. A nice kind of strange, though. She knew she had grown up too. That's just what happened when you were gone for so many years.

She snickered, nodding. "Yeah, my poor family. It's all your guys' fault. If I hadn't run around with you guys when I was little, maybe I wouldn't have been such a troublemaker," she accused, the smile on her face. She laughed and nodded. "Oh, I have a whole lot of Connelly in me. My parents and the Connellys were best friends. There wasn't a day that went by that we weren't at the Connelly house for some reason or another. You remember my parents," she smiled. She missed them, but what was done was done. She'd have her revenge, she was sure of it. She rose a brow. "Do you think I give a shit about sports teams? And have you ever tried to walk on ice in high heels? I would hope not, but I'm not sure what kind of initiation things the Marines have," she teased, smiling.
