Who EVERYONE!
What: Charity Event; Live Auction!
When: Starting @ 6pm
Where: Boston Harbor Hotel
Open? Yes!

The Boston Harbor Hotel had grown in reputation over the last few years, and had easily become a popular spot to host lavish parties, ones that looked out over the Boston Harbor. Another reputation the hotel had garnered for itself was its work with charity organizations. Parties generally coincided with reputable charities, and often joined with such establishments as the Boston Medical Center or the Police Department.

Tonight's event was celebrating the ten year anniversary of the hotel's first unveiling in Boston. The elite of the city were invited to dine and dance in the biggest ballroom the hotel had to offer. But in a town with rivaling mob families, it's only a matter of time before civility runs out.

[[ooc: auction will be announced later if that is indeed what y'all want to do!]]

By the time 6:00PM had rolled around, Tristan was dressed and ready for another charity event at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The last had been certainly more fun and less trouble than he had expected - complete with a bachelor auction where he managed to earn maybe $200 through alongside his own contributions from the winery. This year, no exception - check already written out and turned over to the hotel. No matter the prodominantly Irish support, that wouldn't stop him from conducting business with the establishment or taking the opportunity to have a good time.

Stepping through the doors and eventually to the rooms designated for the event, Tristan glanced around to already pinpoint those he could easily hold a conversation with and those he would've really rather ignored and kept a good arm's length away if he could help it. Surely there would be plenty of people attending; a few Marinos and no doubt a number of Connellys. Should be one hell of an evening. He thought to himself, standing aside to casually converse with some of the event staff until something - someone - more interesting caught his attention.

Since Carly had spent most of her time working, it was a subtle and much needed change to go out for the evening. The Boston Harbor Hotel definitely knew how to host events, so why not take the opportunity to mingle and have some fun. It was well deserved, after the long weeks she had been spending with her face in law books. Her long blonde hair was curled at the ends, and resting on her shoulders. She was draped in a white strapless dress that fell just short of her toes, and white heels to match. Silver clutch in her hand, she stepped her way through the doors, and in to the crowded room.

Her eyes quickly glanced the room to find a familiar face. Keeping a steady pace, she took a glass of champagne as the tray and server passed her. Clearing her throat, she rested her back against the bar while searching for someone she knew, or maybe just someone to chit chat too. It didn't take her long to notice the tall, brown haired familiar man in the distance. Smirking, she headed his direction, standing beside him. He looked just as charming as she remembered, since it had been some time since their last encounter. "Long time no see Tristan.." she spoke softly, smiling up at him.

That familiar voice caught his attention much more quickly than the consistant droning of someone making a diligent, however lacking effort to impress him with what all had gone into the function. It wasn't like it was a particular interest; Just something to pass the time with a smile on his face to match. He nodded to who he had been speaking with, breaking the conversation with a simple turn in her direction.

"Carly Morgan. Pleasure to see you again." He replied, that smile on his face much more genuine than the last as he leaned in, giving her a quick kiss to each cheek. Pulling back, his eye gave an once-over to her attire for the evening - from the bare shoulders to the bottom hem of dress. "And I must say, you look absolutely dazzling this evening."

It was always a nice surprise to see a familiar face at an event like this. Her cheeks began feeling warm. It had been a while since she had the chance to dress up and wow a room. She let out a soft laugh, her hand pressing against her chest. "Thank you. You look rather charming yourself." she spoke. He looked sharp in his attire, but after all, he always seemed to look and speak like the perfect gentleman.

"It has been too long Tristan. How is everything with the winery?" she asked, bringing the glass of champagne to her lips and sipping it.

Tristan turned his eyes away for a second, trying to spot the server with the tray of champagne to grab a glass himself. It was either that or go to the bar to get himself some wine which he would've rather not bothered given the welcome company and time to catch up. He caught the server, making sure to gauge where she was so he could snag one once she walked by again.

"Far, far too long." Tristan replied, eyes returning to Carly. "The winery is running smoothly as usual. Always does a little better during the holiday season." He hadn't wanted to start spewing about business ventures no matter how much they were ready to just slip out of his mouth, giving her another smile.

"And how are things with you? Good, I hope."

She eyes followed him as he grabbed himself a glass of champagne and returned to her side. She smiled, sipping and nodding at his comments about the winery. Of course it was good new to her. She had always had a friendship with Tristan, and only wished the best for him. Sliding a few curls behind her ear, she exhaled before speaking. "Everything is wonderful. Just been working, and that's about it." she said, shrugging. There was really nothing else to it. Her job(s) were pretty much her life lately.

"Just thought it would be nice to crawl out of my little hole for the evening and enjoy myself..." she said with a smile covering her lips. "Cheers to that." she said, toasting her glass against his. "Seeing anyone I might know?" she asked. She was never one to pry, but they had a somewhat trusting and close relationship.

"Cheers." He held up the glass, ears listening in to the clink before he took that first sip. Not bad. Tristan nodded - If there was one thing he knew first hand was working all the time, plenty of his time spent in winery or loan matters. The second question made him laugh lightly, glancing down to the ground with a toothy smile on his face.

"Oh no, no -- I'm not seeing anyone at the moment." It was a surprise even to him, but that certainly didn't mean he wasn't scoping the field, trying to find that one girl that caught his attention more than the rest. Rio, for the moment, had been the one, but he had yet to see her again since their meeting in the Marino restaurant.

"After Tasha, I've pretty much steered clear. Took some time for myself, I guess." He explained, shrugging slightly as if it was really no deal despite all that had happened between the two. "How about you? Any lucky fellow?"

She nodded, the glasses making a sound as they touched. She took a sip before smiling at him. She had known Tasha oh too well. Though they were on a good note as of late, they really did not start off on the right foot. But, the past was the past. "Good to hear. I know sometimes girl can be a little high maintenance.." she said with a laugh, bringing the glass to her lips again for a sip.

"Me? Oh goodness no." she said, laughing out. "I don't have time for men. And even if I did, I never seem to find the good ones." she spoke. She never had really good luck with men. She seemed to always fall for the bad guy.

He nodded, all too knowingly. "As I'm sure even some guys can be high maintenance." Always in their significant other's business, trying to figure out everything and anything just to see where he could worm some attention in. He laughed lightly, taking another sip from the glass. There had been one other after Tasha, but that was one of those stories the likes of him wouldn't tell even to his closest friends.

"They're just hiding out there somewhere. I'm sure when the right one rolls around, he'll hold on and won't let go." Tristan replied with a smile, not all that surprised that somehow the bad ones made their faces more known. Boston was filled with them, probably more than the good ones. Tristan even didn't peg himself as one of the good ones, but there was a big difference between his relationships with others and his relationship with her: Carly was one of his better friends.

"Who knows," He said, giving another glance around, "Could very well be in this room." The comment gained a small laugh, too knowing of the potential faces showing up, but one never knew for sure.

Carly laughed as well, glancing around the room. "I know what you mean. I'm not looking, but if the perfect man walked up to me tonight, I would not protest." she said, pulling her hair back behind her ears as she look another sip of her champagne. "But beyond that, It is going to be a good evening, I can tell." she said softly, smiling at him. It had been long deserved that she spend a night out with some real people.

She cleared her throat softly, placing her other hand against her arm softly. It was nice to sit back and relax. She grabbed a second glass of champagne as hers ran empty. "And who knows, your dream woman could be standing somewhere as well.."she said, laughing softly.

"I sure hope so." Tristan replied; There was nothing that told him it would be otherwise, but the evening was just getting started and who knew what would happen once everyone had a drink or two in them and the night wore on. Whatever the case, he didn't doubt he would have some fun, maybe get in a dance or two and a good meal.

He let out a small chuckle, holding up his glass for a second. "You never know. Then again, with my luck, Mr. Perfect and Mrs. Perfect would arrive together -- A couple and everything." He joked.

She let out a laugh. "That would be quiet the twist I would have to say." she stated, bringing the glass to her lips again as she took a sip. "Your luck and mine. I have such bad luck. Its sad." she said softly with a nod. Whether it was men, or accidents, she was never the best in situations. But that didn't stop her from doing as she pleased.

"Oh well. Someone's bound to come along. No point crying bout it." She nodded again, smiling.

He tried not to think of things as lucky or not, but he was sure he had a little to go relatively unharmed in the bank exposion and keep buisness up to par at least. Lucky in life, not so lucky in love. He could manage.

"Of course not. Might as well have fun while you can." Tristan replied, setting the now empty glass on a tray as a server passed by.

Danielle's day had been spent calling caterers, redoing place setting, and filling the hotel ballroom with as many tables as it could hold. This fundraiser was hopefully going to be even bigger and raise more money than the last one. Despite being in charge she wanted to do everything herself to make sure it was up to the hotels standards. That basically meant by that evening she was about ready to collapse.

She managed to change out of her normal work clothes and into a black cocktail dress in time to greet the first few guests. She tried to compose herself and not let the last ten hours stress show on her face.

Kate had more or less tried to avoid fund raisers of such high attendance as of late, at least since her husband was no longer on her arm. She hated to say, but she felt weird being out on her own, like some widowed wife or divorcee. She remedied this with getting more involved with the parties thrown about, actually taking a role in offering to help where she could.

As tonight's party was benefiting establishments her family had ties to, it was only right that she show up, and make an impression on those who would be emptying their pockets. Catching sight of one of the girls she knew had practically bent over backwards to make the event go smoothly. "Danielle, everything looks gorgeous." She complimented the younger woman, smiling a bit as she said it. She always found that people were just that more friendly when you were grateful for the things they did.

A relieved smile graced her face. "Thank you so much, Mrs Connelly." She let out breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. Kate had been the first one to say anything about complimentary about the party and Danielle was grateful.

"Is there anything I can get for you? A drink? Would you like me to show you to your table?" She asked, ever ready to provide the personal touch at her hotel.

Cooper liked going out - when it was on his terms. Parties such as the lavish one thrown tonight were not his forte, but one could only assume the Italians would be showing up in full force, and Cooper wanted to be damn sure he was around in case anyone of them tried to pull some sort of dumb ass move of "payback" for what happened on Halloween.

Walking around with his double whiskey in hand, his eyes scanned the big banquet room. He had learned in the Marines to survey his surroundings, always be prepared in case the enemy was preparing an attack. He highly doubted that anyone would be stupid enough to try something ... but just in case. He plucked the top button of his black shirt open, feeling all too stifled in the already crowding room. He gulped a bit from his glass before he leaned back on the wall, still looking around for someone he cared to talk to.

Ever since her return to Boston, Cassie's hatred for the Italians had just grown tenfold. She had been sent on somewhat of a wild goose chase, and though she didn't blame Matt for that, she was still upset that it had yielded absolutely no results. And she was still no closer in the search for her parent's killers. And that just made her want to get drunk and punch somebody. Either that, or get drunk and have sex. Whichever one came first.

She had heard about the charity event as soon as she came back into town. And, up until this moment, she really had no desire to show up. But then she thought about the open bar, and changed her mind, opening the doors to her closet. She finally decided on a tight little black number, one that clung to her curves and showed off what an amazing body she had. Hey, she worked for that body, it was only fair for her to get to show it off some. Waltzing into the room, she glanced around for a little bit, heading to the bar and getting her first drink of the night. She held it to her lips and took a sip as she surveyed the room, her upper lip snarling a little subconsciously as she noticed that the Italians were, in fact, in attendance. Making her way over to the side where the least Italians were, she was minding her own business when her heel caught on a snag in the carpeting and she stumbled forward into a man leaning against the wall. Luckily, her drink spilled mostly all over herself, missing him. Well, lucky for him, anyway. "Fuck, I'm sorry," she mumbled, standing upright and glancing down at the damage.

Cooper was beginning to get a little bored with the crowd, his mind already thinking of something that he could do to throw a little bit of mayhem into the pot. Nothing big of course, but just perhaps a little bit to stir the pot, anyway. He glared down at his now-empty glass of whiskey as if it had insulted him by having no more of the liquor in it, but before he could get more than a couple of steps away from the wall, he'd collided into someone, his hands immediately dropping his glass and reaching out to catch her before she fell to the floor. In the process, her drink had gone all over her.

"No worries. You did more damage to yourself." He said, smirking a little as he thought that he could oh so easily grab a napkin and help her out, but instead he just reached behind him to a table and handed her one, rather than offering to put his hands all over her. "Cassie, I see you're still as big of a klutz as you ever were." He teased, grinning widely at her. It'd been a while, what with her moving away and him heading off to the military, but Cooper wasn't the kind of guy for big tearful reunions.

At the sound of the man's voice that she ran into, Cassie glanced up. She was mostly shocked because he knew her name. As she landed eyes on him, her smile grew. "Well, as I live and breathe. Cooper Connelly. I never expected to see you at one of these little charity shindig things," she said, taking the napkin he offered her and brushing her hair off her shoulders, using said napkin to dry off her chest. There wasn't much she could do about the dress, short of going into the bathroom and using one of those air dryers. She'd done it before. But she honestly didn't really care all that much. it wasn't one of her favorite dresses, and it was just vodka so it wouldn't stain. Clear liquor was the best kind of liquor.

After finishing with the drying off of her chest, she scrunched the napkin up in her hand and shoved it into the now empty glass she held in her hand. Returning her attention from her chest back to Cooper, she gave him a smile. "I haven't seen you..." she trailed off, trying to think of the last time she had seen him. She honestly didn't think she'd seen him since she moved away when she was eight. "...probably since I moved away," she said, tilting her head to the side. "You look exactly the same. Just beefier," she teased, poking his upper arm. The same crush she had on Matt, she also had one on Cooper. But she never said anything. She was just shy little Cassie McKinley back then. Nothing like the woman she was now.

Catching the eye of a passing waitress, he signaled for a couple more drinks and gave her a charming smile. Turning his attention back to Cassie, he gave her a little smirk and shrugged at her comment, doing his best to be a 'good boy' and not blatantly check her out. No matter how hard he tried though, he couldn't help his eyes from scanning over her. One miss Cassie McKinley had grown up quite a bit over the years.

His eyes caught hers again and he grinned widely at her comment. "Yeah, it's been a while." He shrugged a little and cocked his head to the side. "Yeah, the military does that to a kid." He said with another little shrug of his shoulders. "You look good..." He trailed off, his lips curving into a smirk. "A lot hotter than I remembered."

Cassie nodded as he agreed that it had been awhile. She crossed her arms across her chest, ignoring her wet bodice for the moment. She mimicked him, tilting her head to the side as well. "Military, eh? That doesn't surprise me. Not in the least," she said, shaking her head. Cooper always struck her as someone who'd eventually do something of that nature. Her smile grew as he told he she looked good, and that she was hotter than he remembered. She snickered, shrugging.

"Well, you haven't seen me since I was eight years old. I don't even think I had boobs back then, so I'd imagine I look a hell of a lot different in that regard," she said, glancing down at her own chest momentarilly before she returned her gaze to him. "And hanging out with all you boys was turning me into a horrible tomboy. So maybe it was a good thing I ended up moving away," she teased, tilting her head to the side. "You're definitely easy on the eyes, too," she complimented, her eyes scanning him once more. He had grown up too, and damn. Just ... damn.

Cooper chuckled a little at her comment about the military and nodded. "Yeah well, I had to do something after high school, and I wasn't about to go through four years of college bullshit." True, he didn't want to go to college, even though Andrew had said it would have been smart. He didn't care, and he hadn't wanted to go that route. College, as far as he was concerned, was a cop-out for people who were too scared to take on the real world. He shrugged a little and momentarily turned his attention to the waitress who had brought them fresh drinks. He nodded his thank-you before taking a large sip of his whiskey.

"This is true. How you survived us, I really have no clue, but kudos to you." He said, tipping his glass toward her a little with a smirk. His cousins were the kids on the block who tormented the girls who tried to hang out with them, but Cassie was one of the few who actually held her own. He chuckled a little at her comment about him and gave her a nod of thanks as he brushed some imaginary lint from his lapels. "So what have you been up to, McKinley?"

Cassie's smile grew, and she nodded. "Yeah, I avoided that college bullshit too," she said. She ran her hand through her hair. As the waitress brought back their drinks, she took hers and gave her a small smile. She took a long sip of her drink, closing her eyes as she did so. Once she moved the glass away from her lips, she laughed at his comment.

"Yeah, well, running with you boys affected me more than I thought it did. Because I ended up being quite the troublemaker down in Florida with my aunt and uncle. I think I made them regret taking me in," she laughed. "I was sneaking out all the time, getting into fights, all that fun stuff," she said, shaking her head. "I guess I missed you guys more than I thought I did, since I'm back here. Where the winters are fucking freezing. I could have stayed down in Florida where they're nice and warm, but noo," she smiled.

"We're just cool like that, huh?" He said, smirking a little at her comment of not going on to college. He would have gone nuts if he kept on going through more and more school. He hated that shit, and thought of himself as smart - just in other ways.

Cooper grinned at her and nodded. "That I believe. Your poor family." He chuckled, shaking his head a little before he sipped at his whiskey. "Sounds like you have a little bit of Connelly in you." He said with a crooked grin, picturing her getting into all kinds of trouble, mostly what she would have been doing in their company had she stayed. He laughed at her mention of the winders and nodded. "Yeah, well, Boston has better sports teams, and a little snow never hurt anybody." He said with a shrug, smirking at her as he said it.

"Pfft, of course. Everyone else wishes they were as cool as the two of us," she laughed, shaking her head. She tilted her head to the side and took him in once more, smiling. Coop really had grown up, it was sort of strange. A nice kind of strange, though. She knew she had grown up too. That's just what happened when you were gone for so many years.

She snickered, nodding. "Yeah, my poor family. It's all your guys' fault. If I hadn't run around with you guys when I was little, maybe I wouldn't have been such a troublemaker," she accused, the smile on her face. She laughed and nodded. "Oh, I have a whole lot of Connelly in me. My parents and the Connellys were best friends. There wasn't a day that went by that we weren't at the Connelly house for some reason or another. You remember my parents," she smiled. She missed them, but what was done was done. She'd have her revenge, she was sure of it. She rose a brow. "Do you think I give a shit about sports teams? And have you ever tried to walk on ice in high heels? I would hope not, but I'm not sure what kind of initiation things the Marines have," she teased, smiling.

Getting into the event had been simple enough, a few strings pulled by his supervisors; a number of dollars put in as a donation under his name; everything down to grabbing something for him to wear. Parties? Not his thing. Not even the lavish ones. He kept to the more low-key, maybe a few drinks amongst friends; Not a charity dinner with a fancy dress code and too many unfamiliar faces for anyone to be comfortable in.

Christian stepped into the hall, bright blue eyes already glancing around from person to people - Not as if he was looking for someone, but simply scanning the room to see if there were a few familiar faces he could point out; Known if only for FBI files and candid captures from former investigations. This night, however, wasn't to start weeding out information; Just a first encounter and maybe have a little fun in the process.

He gave a few friendly nods as he passed through the room, heading straight for the bar and potentially something a little more appealing to his palate than champagne.

Lonn wasn't going to go. Had talked himself out of it. But when the offhanded thought that the Italians may be making one claim or another at the event fluttered through his head, he made the decision that he had to go. And after the festivities of Halloween, he was obligated to defend his territory and family. Right?

Right.

After digging through his closet for what seemed like hours, he found his black suit and powder blue shirt, nixing the matching tie as he just didn't feel like getting that spiffied up. Actually taming his hair, he left his apartment and made his way down to the Boston Harbor Hotel. Being who he was, he really didn't have to present an entrance ticket, but he did, and took a sweeping glance around the open ballroom. Blue eyes didn't immediately spot anyone that he was chomping at the bits to speak with, nor did they spot anyone that he was itching to pick a fight with. Yet.

So he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his slacks and made his way over to the bar. His upper lip curled for the briefest of moments when he realized there weren't any open seats that he wouldn't have to bump elbows with. Oh well. Might as well be personable. He was out and about, after all. "You mind?" he asked, pointing to the seat, a friendly smile plastered on his face. The stranger seemed safe enough.

The tender had already taken his order, Christian settling down in his seat although he wasn't sure for how long given there was still plenty of the evening to go - people to mingle with, maybe throw in a dance or two, have some fun while getting a feel for what was going on in Boston and how high tensions could've been. His attention turned over to whoever it was that had spoke - breaking him from his train of thought - as his eyes dropping to the empty seat next to him as he let two and two click in his head.

"Not a problem. Go right ahead." Christian replied as he shook his head slightly, even shifting over that slight bit to give him a little more elbow room. He wasn't even sure how many people would be showing up to the event, but from the looks of it, it was going to be one hell of an evening if something was to happen. Wasn't like these were the most cooperative groups - the Italians and the Irish; stuck in one big room where God knows what to happen.

Kayleigh may not have been categorized as a girly girl, but she never turned down a chance to prove that she could, in fact, clean up well. When she heard about the charity event, she went down and got tickets, and convinced Murphy, kicking and screaming, to get prettied up and go with her.

Only after promising him that she'd make it worth his while after the event was over and they were back at either his or her apartment. Plus, it was an open bar.

She held tight to his arm, looking sideways at him. She'd been struck by how hot he looked all dressed up and was more than proud to be on his arm for the night. Kayleigh smiled at him, letting her eyes roam over him for a second, deciding to poke the bear a bit.

"You look so peeerrrrdy." She leaned into him, pressing her palm into his chest and scratching at him gently with her fingernails.

Murphy had no plans on going to this dumb charity thing, but then Kayleigh went and got tickets. He had planned to stick to the whole not going thing, that was until she promised that she'd make it worth his while afterwards. He made sure to tell her that he expected hours and hours of hot, passionate sex, and that he would settle for nothing less. They had been somewhat seeing each other for awhile now, and he was actually happy. Murphy wasn't the kind of a guy to be happy when it came to a relationship, so he was more shocked than anyone. But then again, he had been great friends with Kayleigh forever, and now the only thing that was really different was that they had amazingly mind-blowing sex.

She looked absolutely amazing when he swung by to pick her up on the way to the event, and it took most of his self-control not to just pick her up and carry her back to the bedroom. He composed himself, though, and they arrived on time. Glancing around, he didn't see anyone he really wanted to talk to. He hated these things. Glancing down at Kay as she told him he looked perdy, he rose a brow at her. "You're enjoying this way too much," he stated, shaking his head, his hand reaching up for hers that was touching his chest.

She wrapped an arm around his waist, hitching up the back of the coat he was wearing to let her fingers trail across his lower back. Kayleigh wasn't really paying any attention to any one else in the room, since the only person she really wanted to spend time with was at her side.

"I am. You look awesome. Can't keep my eyes off you." She smiled up at him, leaning her chin into his chest as he took her hand. She flexed her fingers against his, and moved toward the open bar in the corner. "You'll enjoy yourself later. So, shh. Enjoy the time you're spending with me now." She looked over to the bar, seeing flutes of champagne sitting on a tray. She unraveled herself from Murphy long enough to grab two glasses, handing him one and clinking her own against the side of his.

"To us getting shitfaced on the city." She smiled at Murphy as she took a sip, then moved into him again, running her free hand up his side. She was more than tempted to grab his wrist and drag him off to the coat check room.

He closed his eyes as she trailed her fingers over his lower back. She was the only woman he knew that could get him riled up (even if only a little bit) with just a faint touch of her fingers. How he had gone so long just being friends with her, he'd never know. But he didn't have to worry about that anymore, now that they were more than friends. He turned to glance at her as she rested her chin against his chest and told him she couldn't take her eyes off of him. "Hmm, I could say the same thing about you," he said, licking his lips before leaning down to give her a brief kiss.

Laughing as she pulled him off towards the bar, he nodded. "Okay, fine. I'll at least pretend to enjoy myself here," he said, slipping his arm around her waist and pulling her in close to him after she handed him a glass of champagne. He took a sip with her, and then glanced down at her, a small smirk on his face. He couldn't help it, she was hot. She was his, too, which was nearly impossible for him to believe. "I'm not letting you drive back if you get shitfaced, babe. Your drunken driving is scarier than sober driving," he said, shaking his head.

"Pft, pretend. You're going to have fun, dammit." She poked him gently in his side, then rested her chin on his chest again, watching him. "And I drive like a champ. Drunk driving is a sport here, y'know." Kayleigh hugged him, tilting her head back and drinking the rest of her champagne.

"Y'wanna know something kind of sad? I saw you, what, yesterday?" She lowered her voice, pressing up onto her toes so she could speak into his ear. "I missed you," she said in a low whisper, then pulled back, smiling up at him like a dork.

She felt like an ass, acting like a schoolgirl with a crush whenever she was around Murphy. But she didn't care, not even a little bit.

He laughed, reaching his hand down to rub over the spot on his side where she had poked him. "Ouch, don't poke me. That's abuse," he said, lifting the glass of champagne to his lips and taking a long swig from it. He rose a brow at her when she said she drove like a champ. "You drive like a monkey on acid, Kayleigh. And don't you dare disagree with me, because you know it's true. Even when you're sober you drive like a fucking maniac," he laughed, shaking his head.

He glanced down at her when she spoke again, and then stood up on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear. He smiled at her words and then glanced down at her smiling face, nodding. "Yeah, that's pretty sad," he said, laughing. He expected her to smack his arm or something, so he slid his arm around her waist, pulling her right up against him and pressing his lips to hers before she could get a smack in. He gave her a long kiss, finally pulling away after a few moments, giving her a smile.

Kayleigh swatted at his chest as he mocked her, then greedily accepted his kiss. She tightened her arm around him, then fiddled in her purse, looking for the ticket information that she'd brought with her.

"So, y'know that law firm you talked to for me? I got the second interview." She grinned up at Murphy, slightly giddy at both the opportunity to work again, and at the general atmosphere of the room. "They want me to come in and actually work for them for the day, and see how it turns out. If I'm good, which we all know damned well I am, they'll hire me on full time." She made a little 'eeee!' noise, then wiggled against Murphy's side.

"So, once more, thank you for talking to them for me. I appreciate it. I need to get off my lazy ass and stop hanging out at the bar all the time. My tab is getting a little ridiculous." She winked at him, then snagged another glass of champagne as a caterwaiter walked by with a tray of glasses.

Murphy smirked against her lips, her kisses were always addictive. He couldn't get enough of her, it was just the way things went. Licking his lips as she pulled away, he listened to her talking about the the law firm job. Smiling, he nodded. "Hey, no problem. It's not often I get to put in a good word for someone somewhere, so the pleasure is all mine," he smirked at her, tucking a few pieces of her hair behind her ear. He snickered. "I'm sure you'll be fantastic, babe," he assured her, nodding.

Raising a brow as she mentioned getting off her ass and the bar thing, he snickered again. "Right. Because I can so see you giving up the bar scene. You live for that scene, Kay, and don't even try to deny it," he said, holding up a finger at her. Smirking as she grabbed another glass of champagne, he held out his hand. "Case in point," he teased, grabbing a glass for himself. He downed the rest of his first glass and then set the empty glass on the tray. "Thanks, man," he said to the waiter as he walked off. He smiled down at her.

Norah showed up stag to the party. She'd been handed an invite by the English dean, and was expected to show up to add support to the Harvard faculty attending charity angle. Whatever the case, there was rumor of an open bar, and word that nearly everyone in Boston would probably show up.

She handed over her invite, and headed toward the bar immediately, passing a couple who were sickeningly happy with each other and not afraid to make the effort at making the entire room jealous. She smiled at them, the redhead not paying her any attention, then Norah landed in front of the bartender, grinning at him.

"Redbull and vodka." She turned her back to him and surveyed the room, trying to spot anyone she might recognize from either work, or possibly a passing old friend. She also hoped beyond all hope than neither Johnathon or Bianca came into her line of sight, as she'd be forced to slam each of their faces into a hard, flat surface.

Once the bartender handed her her drink, she nodded thanks and dropped a dollar into the tip cup. She weaved her way through the crowd, being stopped roughly by a shoulder slamming into hers. "Ouch. Sorry. You okay?"
