Securely warded and sealed, in response to Kyteler's letter, following up his earlier report:

Dear Magister Kyteler,

As I feared, we were unable to adequately protect the students from the incubus. Although we had identified Miss Philippa Brown as a possible target of the incubus and had enlisted her friend and Inquisitorial Squad member Thecla Device to watch her, the incubus turned its attention to Miss Device and lured her out of the castle. Miss Brown had also left the castle to join an unauthorized party being held at the Three Broomsticks.

Auror Longbottom and Miss Popescu tracked down the incubus where it was in the process of conducting a ritual which would require the death of Miss Device. They arrived in time to save her, but Miss Brown was killed in an attempt to save the life of her friend.

They then devised a plan to trap the incubus, which was successfully exorcised from another student the following morning.

We do not know what the incubus intended to accomplish by this sacrifice, but we recommend that Miss Brown's family be investigated, as Miss Device seems to think that there is a connection.

We also suspect a connection with the death by apparent suicide of Professor Lucas Bettony, and will be investigating this further.

Thank you for sending the additional Aurors. Although the immediate danger of the incubus appears to be over, I cannot be certain that there are no additional threats.

Yours sincerely, Constable Benjamin Forrester, RCMP

Securely warded and sealed, in reply to her owl:

Dear Lilah,

Thank you. I've learned even more about Miss Benedetto and myself since I last wrote, and I really need to talk to you about it.

I can come over this afternoon, if that's all right with you.

Yours,
Jack
