In reply to his owl
Dear Nat,
I'm so glad that you are going to be at home in England and not at the front or whereever you were! I suppose you mustn't be coming up this weekend after all. I really wish you were, everything is dreadful here. First the elves rebelled, and then it turned out there was a demon behind it all, it had to be exorcised from Mr Smith (do you remember him? is he really Hufflepuff's heir? He is not even a Lord). And it must have been what killed Claire Jeannot, along with two other girls. I am sure your boss is a very good man, but he really needs better people at school than Goyle I think.
I am trying to be extra kind to Ianthe. She showed me your letter, it was very nice, although not so long as the one you sent me. I will try and be just as kind.
I don't suppose you really can say anything, but if you can, do you think you could perhaps let Lady Malfoy that Kathleen Lovegood (that's what the Weasleys call themselves now) is making an awful fool of herself over her son, and she's not really the very thing for her heir? I feel quite bad for her really, she's awfully lonely in Slytherin and I hope Mr Malfoy does the right thing by her, but she's going to be so disappointed if it keeps on the way it has been.
Love,
Maeve |
