Get it going 'til you get it right
Who: Cheila, Diana and Laurent
Where: Elias home-area
When: Just after sunset
It was probably impossible for things to just go right for an extended period of time. Laurent was not a negative sort of person but he did try to be realistic when it came to certain things. Those things very rarely mattered, that was true, but hey - he was trying. But when the news was talking about demons and angels and fae coming through and thousands of people being responsible for the demon attacks of the past month that had killed so many... well, was it even possible to view that as anything but exactly what it was? Not good. Angels had been in the world before and surely it had been no different for their presence. Laurent viewed angels as the opposing force to demons so if one was there the other had to be, but why had they not come sooner? When the demons were actually out there raising hell and they were necessary? He doubted that he would be able to find an answer for that and, unlike some of his fellows, he was unable to just curl up in his bed and sleep until it went away. He could always have found someone's dreams and given them a brighter turn but for once, he had no desire to do that. Having Rae over a few days ago had left him with an almost undeniable desire to have contact with people. In the real world. Today was probably not the best day to act on that particular urge, but Laurent was not worried about demons. As a vampire he believed that he was more than capable of taking care of himself and as a former commandant he believed that he could use his vampiric superiorities in the best way available.
As he stared out his window a touch moodily, sipping at a glass of fire elemental blood, a face flashed across his memory. Some might say it could not rightly be called a memory since it had been a dream, not even his dream at that, but Laurent viewed what happened in dreams as every bit as real as what happened in day-to-day life. Sometimes it could be moreso depending on the individual and what happened. And really, who could claim that they went through life without having at least one dream that effected them in some way? I wonder if Cheila is alright. The woman had seemed too gentle for her own good, the sort of person who bad things could happen to too easily. She also just felt good, and Laurent had an undeniable feeling that perhaps she was one of those individuals with angelic blood in her veins. Which meant that today could be awful for her. Now he could have waited around for several hours and tried to locate her dreams after that, but patience was not always his virtue. And besides, the sun was going down and he needed to get out. Demons causing little pockets of trouble here or there notwithstanding. Actually they were the driving force. Rae could take care of herself - and would not approve of him checking up on her, most likely - but Laurent was... well, worried about the little air elemental whose dreams had been so troubling.
Elias was not that common of a name and it only took a bit of digging for Laurent to locate the only ones who were apparently in town. Newly moved there with a new house and everything. The name was Diana, not Cheila, but perhaps that was the mother she had mentioned. Plain black pants and a long-sleeved button up red shirt and Laurent wsa on his way. So yes, there was a handgun in the glove compartment of his car, but it was only logical to take a few precautions when there were demons about and you were going to try finding an angelic girl. Pulling into the drive, and instantly surprised at the lack of other cars there, Laurent sat in the car until the last beams of sunlight had vanished before slipping out. The gun stayed in the waistband of his pants - certain people would call him scruffy because his shirt was untucked - as he walked up to what he assumed was the front door. Raising his hand up he knocked and waited. Hopefully this was the right place. If not? Then maybe he would make himself another contact and therefore open up a new set of dreams he just had to visit. But really, he hoped it was where Cheila lived. How else would he know she had not gotten herself hurt?
