Bitches? Get shit DONE. Who: Jasper and Erin When: Early morning Where: U of M hospital
By morning, Erin was feeling pretty normal again. Also, the second she checked the news, she was feeling like a psychic in a whole new way. Warnings for possible demonic activity tomorrow. Well, great. Yeah, it was a great idea to get Jasper out of the hospital. The place was always a mad house when that happened. She was just full of awesome ideas.
She headed out to the hospital a little earlier than she was due for work, wanting to give Jasper the blood before her shift. She stopped briefly in her office to grab her lab coat and stash her purse, placing the 4oz vial of blood in her coat pocket as she headed to Jasper’s room. She’d looked up how much it would take to heal him, and discovered she could safely divide the blood four ways. Vampire blood seemed like a good thing to hang onto, what with the way that demons seemed to have a hard-on for her house. Yeah, that was a fucking excellent plan.
She was in a mixed mood as she walked down the hall. On one hand, holy shit yay she got to heal Jasper. On the other, it was quite possible the next few days were going to suck anyway. Nuts. Her steps grew softer as she neared his room, not sure if he’d be awake or not. This time, rather than knocking, she peeked her head in the door for a look-see.
Jasper was actually asleep when Erin came in to check up on him, having not that much of a fun night after Erin left. Seriously, all the nurses and doctors had to stop poking him with needles and drawing his blood. God, and they wondered why he wasn’t getting any sleep. He couldn’t remember when they finally left him alone, but by then he desperately needed sleep. Just curled up on his side and passed out. The last thing that danced on by in his mind were visions of Erin and that seductive grin on her lips. Probably the only time his clairsentience was actually a good thing. But now that he was asleep, his dreams were making up all sorts of scenarios in his head involving her. It couldn’t be helped. Either way, he looked rather adorable all snuggled into the pillow, albeit with a few bandages wrapped around him.
D’aww, he’s just a big, wounded teddy bear, Erin thought, smiling to herself. She’d hate to wake him, truly. He was just so adorable! Her grin broadened as she stepped into the room, stepping out of her heels to walk quietly. Yes, she was going to have to wake him up. But that didn’t mean it’d have to be a noisy, unpleasant wake-up. She walked around his bedside, leaning down so that her face was level with his, and only inches away. If this were any other day, and the person in bed wasn’t covered in bandages, this would have been the time Erin screamed. Or at least started with the horror movie sound effects. Instead, she hovered near until her lips nearly grazed his skin, and softly blew into his face. Wake up. It’s Christmas. In August. With blood.
That definitely got a whimper from Jasper, stirring in bed as he tried to get more comfortable, finding himself bumping into something. What the...? His eyes opened lazily, only to find Erin inches away from him, looking rather content. Well then, THAT was one way to start off his day. He took a second to blink, blush a bit, and more or less convinced himself this was somehow not a dream. “I either died and went to heaven or my new wake up call involves some gorgeous girl comin’ by to say hi.” He was hoping for the latter.
Erin grinned and rolled her eyes. “I’m no angel, Jasper. Remember?” She kissed his nose and stood up straight, gesturing for him to sit up. “Come on, wakey wakey. I got a surprise for ‘ya.” To put it mildly. Hopefully he wouldn’t refuse it. Then again... he was in no shape for such a thing. Erin was betting she could pour it down his throat pretty easily with little fight from him right now. If he’d ever fight a woman in the first place. Probably not.
A surprise? From Erin? At least twenty things popped into Jasper’s mind and all of them were probably not going to happen. Still, he sat up for her, though he groaned in the process as his ribs ached. That was going to take forever to heal and not something Jasper really had the patience for. At least he didn’t need a cane like his brother. Running his fingers through his hair, he looked on over to Erin and raised a brow. “A surprise, hmm? What ya got in store for me?”
Erin had to grin and close her eyes for a brief moment at the question. Oh, what a loaded question, and all the many answers she could give. She doubted she had time for all of them before her shift started, so she was going to have to stick with her reason for this little visit in the first place. She shook her head as she pulled the vial out of her pocket. Luckily, it was made of an amber glass, and it was hard to tell what color the liquid inside was. It didn’t look gross, it just looked... like a little bottle of liquid. She uncorked it, and held it out. “Drink this. Doctor’s orders. Don’t ask questions, don’t pause, just get it down fast. It’ll probably be better that way.” She wondered if it would still work if he puked it up. Oh well, she had spares.
Jasper blinked, eyeing the bottle that Erin held out to him. Thankfully for her, he wasn’t the type that could ever say no to a woman. Not to mention, yeah, she did work here and thus is made sense if it was a doctor’s order... maybe. Nope, Jasper was just head over heels for the girl and would drink a whole kegger if she told him to do it right now. “Mornin’ shots. Lovely.” He chuckled lightly while taking the bottle in hand, swishing it about in the container before knocking it back. Wait a second... “...holy fuck.” Jasper was pretty certain that there was no alcohol in the world that got him this buzzed this fast in just one drink. Whatever the hell she just gave him was definitely not the most appetizing thing in the world, but it was making his head spin... in a good way. Enough for him to not notice some of the bruises on his skin were slowly fading away. “The hell is this?”
Erin’s eyes went wide. “Holy shit!” she blurted out. She had never thought he’d just do it. Drink whatever the hell she put in his hand, no questions asked. “I thought I was gonna have to fight you on it! I was all set to use the offer of playing nurse as my next negotiating step!” And then her eyes went even wider. The bruises on Jasper’s skin were fading away before her eyes. The sight was so amazing that she felt like the one buzzing on vamp juice. Finally, she grinned. “Vampire blood. Notice that you can open both eyes now?” I am the shiznit. Yes, I am.
“...what?” He just drank that shit? Jasper couldn’t really think straight right now, considering how his whole head was spinning. Still coherent, just... yeah, he wasn’t going to be driving home anytime soon. Though Erin did have a point - he could open both eyes properly now. Bringing a hand up to where the black eye had been, he could feel the swelling going down, only to let out a sharp hiss as he actually felt his broken ribs mending back together. Was this what it was like to be a vampire? Almost as painful as actually receiving them. “Ya got vamp blood... for me?” He looked over to Erin and raised an eyebrow. Oh, he appreciated this a million times over and needed to repay the favor somehow, but... “Why?”
“Yeah, but don’t get too excited. Me and a couple of my bitches knocked over Heme and offed a couple fangers, so you’re probably gonna have a lot to deal with when you go back to work,” Erin answered with ease. She frowned when he seemed to be in pain, and put a hand on his shoulder. “Just relax and give everything a minute. I’m not sure how long it’s supposed to take. Good news is, it’s probably safe to puke by now.” The healing had already started, so that seemed to scream ‘success’. She cocked her head to the side at his question, realizing she hadn’t really thought too much about the why’s. Then again, outside of work, she rarely did. She got ideas, knew they were usually fucking awesome just because of the source, and went with them. She shrugged. “You needed it. Besides, things might end up getting crazy here the next couple of days. That Irish dude, Niall, says they’re gonna be at it again soon. I’m gonna need my demon-hunting team. Plus, you owe me a date, and I’m not the most patient of people.”
Jasper wasn’t sure if she was joking or not when she mentioned how she killed a bunch of vampires with ‘her bitches,’ but considering it was Erin, of all people, Jasper wouldn’t have been too shocked if she did do it. Just... yeah, that would make his day job more stressful when he got back. Then his attention went straight to the fact she mentioned demons. “What?! Are ya fuckin’ serious?! Ya’d someone would have put a bullet to that idiot’s head by now.” Jasper rolled his eyes, wincing a bit more at the regeneration. “Ow... god... well, if hell breaks loose tomorrow, sign me up, cutie. Ya know Jamie and I can’t say no to a can o’ whoop ass.” He paused, then waved a finger at her. “And no, demon huntin’ is not my idea of takin’ ya out on a date.” Unless there was booze involved, then maybe.
Erin had to laugh at the way he seemed to hesitate. “Obtained completely legally, I promise. You really can find anything on craigslist.” Anything from willing human slaves to undead body fluids. What a place. “Yeah, well, don’t think about the idiot right now.” And with that, she gently pushed him back against the pillows. “I said relax. Give it a few minutes and you should be feeling awesome. Enjoy it while you can.” At least he’d get to have one decent day. A decent, kind of buzzy day, but hell - that basically described eighty percent of Erin’s college experience. “Don’t say that until you’ve seen me shoot,” she said, grinning widely. “I kill demons real good. I’m looking to make it an art.”
Upon being pushed into the pillows, Jasper just blinked, wishing he had the strength and clear mind to pull Erin in with him. Well, at least he could sit back and just enjoy the view. “I actually don’t think I’ve seen ya shoot. Didn’t really expect the medical examiner to be playing Batman the second the demons came out, but-” He smirked a bit. “You’re just full of surprises. I like that.” Always had Jasper guessing and each turn had him wanting for more.
Erin smiled at him, and sat lightly at the edge of his bed. She wasn’t so worried about hurting him anymore, but she didn’t want to hinder the healing process. She wondered how his bones were doing. She could no longer see any trace of bruises. “My dad used to take us all out shooting. Chloe, too. The two of us really took to it. We still hit the gun range at least once a week.” Which may have helped with why she got along so well with so many damn cops. “First time I saw a demon, I didn’t have a gun handy though. Had to take it down with an axe. That sucked.” To put it mildly.
Jasper whistled at Erin’s story. “Good to know that ya got the dominant trait in being a bad ass.” He couldn’t help but smile a bit, chuckling to himself in amusement. The girl was smoking hot, had a witty personality, gave him a run for his money in just about any drinking game, and could kick his ass. What more could he want? “And hopefully next time ya face a demon, ya won’t have to be alone. Ya know Jamie and I will help ya out.” He had to include his twin for obvious reason, but really? Jasper would have gone out of his way on his own for her.
She reached forward and smoothed his hair away from his face, getting an odd vision centered around his body healing. Whoa, trippy. She just grinned and nodded. “I know,” she agreed, leaning forward to lightly brush her lips over his. “I’m kind of counting on it.” She was just the type to start texting people and make herself as annoying as possible until they gave in and came to pitch in. It was so much easier when they were willing.
Ok, not only did this girl major in being a BAMF, but she apparently double majored in being a tease and graduated summa cum lade. Jasper gasped lightly as he felt her lips over his. Ok, now that just wasn’t fair. Dude was all sorts tingly and shit and that? That felt ten times more amazing than it had the other night. Was ‘everything is fucking awesome right now’ a side effect from vampire blood? Now wasn’t the time to be asking questions, and instead he carefully slipped an arm around her waist, pulled her in closer, and locked those lips of his onto hers. Jasper could be just as impatient as she was and right now he wanted to taste her lips.
Erin raised an eyebrow in confusion, and had been about to ask what the gasp was about when he did that. Well. Dayum. Someone was feeling better. She moved with him, fingers still in his hair as she settled next to him. Perhaps she should have come straight here from her little meeting with Jezebelle. This was a dangerous albeit wonderful position to be in so soon before work.
Jasper didn’t have a single clue as to what her work schedule was. All he knew was that she was teasing the crap out of him and he wasn’t going to let an opportunity slip away from him. Hell no, not after all the years of following Elsie around like a puppy dog. Granted, he wasn’t sure he was ready to go much further than this, but this was a damn good start. He gently pulled her in closer, deepening the kiss as his fingers idly traced her lower back, not bothered by the visions he got at all. They were from Erin, after all. How bad could they be?
Erin was hazarding a guess that he was fully healed, and feeling pretty damn happy with the world in general. It seemed that way, from the glimpses she saw. It felt a bit like being in his shoes, even while still wearing hers. She could almost feel what he was going through. That alone was a pretty disorienting experience, though not at all an unpleasant one. She was used to it in times of intimacy - just not with a guy on vampire blood. She trailed her fingertips down his jawline, tugging his chin down to briefly lick into his mouth. Stopping now. No, really, now. In a second.
Stopping was not really an option in Jasper’s mind and hey! He was still in a hospital bed, not going anywhere. Might as well enjoy the entertainment while it lasted. Shit, a nurse would walk in on them right now and he would promptly flip them off. Blood tests could wait for another hour... or... something like that. A light groan slipped past his lips as he felt that tongue of hers against him, bringing a hand up to cradle the back of her head - and apparently her shampoo sessions in the shower were epic - and pulled her in for a hard kiss. Part of him couldn’t help it due to the vampire blood pumping through him and the other part... ok, there was no valid explanation. Jasper was just living in the moment, feeling like he was back in high school while giving Erin a taste of her own medicine, running his tongue back over her lips.
Holy hell. Was this the same shy, southern boy who had apologized for possibly disrespectful behavior on a dancefloor? Was this the vamp blood, or the real him? Erin wasn't sure which was more likely, though he did seem to come a little more out of his shell every time she saw him. When he kissed her like that, the world seemed to spin around them. She returned in kind, meeting with great enthusiasm - until she remembered that she needed to breathe. Even then, when the damnable need to breathe won over, she didn’t pull away far. She lead her head rest on his forehead, and when she spoke, her lips grazed against the skin of his neck. “Glad you’re feeling better.”
Yup, this was still the same timid guy. Erin didn’t know about his wild side back in his younger days and she definitely did a good job at pulling them out from him. Somewhere in his mind he figured she was a kinky ass girl. Seriously, with an attitude like that? Girl had to be crazy in bed. And he didn’t mind fantasizing about that idea. “Glad I’m feelin’ better,” Jasper echoed her words, massaging the back of her head as a drawn-out moan left his closed lips. “Hopefully they’ll let me out at some point today.” He nuzzled his face into hers with a light smile. “I’d love to see ya later.” Seriously, he didn’t want to let go of this happy anytime soon. She had NO idea how long he had been waiting for this, feeling as though he’d never close to any woman ever again, too scared to hurt them again, too scared of what his powers would do. Erin didn’t seem to give a shit and just pulled him out of his shell.
Erin grinned as she nuzzled some more into his neck. “They will,” she confirmed. “I bet they’ll take you to x-ray, confirm you’re healing, and make sure you get a ride.” She chuckled a bit at the idea. “And you will need a ride.” She looked up at him, lightly tracing her fingertips up and down his jawline again. “Well I get out of work at five,” she told him. “And you owe me a date. That gives you a little over eight hours to figure something out.”
Jasper couldn’t help but smirk at her words. “Think I’ll do a lot more than just figure out a place for us to go,” he winked at her, rather enjoying the way her fingers were dancing across his skin. “I hope I’m not holdin’ ya up for work, either. God forbid if someone isn’t there to deal with all them dead people.” And he really didn’t want her to go, loving her company, but it was pretty damn inevitable. He couldn’t keep her around for the entire day.
Erin laughed, quite enjoying that smirk on his face. “Fine, work out a whole checklist of activities then. I’ve never gone on a vampire blood induced date before, that should be pretty damn interesting.” She checked her watch, seeing she had only a couple of minutes to get back down to the morgue. “I’ve got a minute or two,” she confirmed, her lips traveling to his ear. “Make ‘em count.”
This was the kind of thing Jasper lived for. He loved thinking up cracked out ideas to do and both his brother and himself could spend a week retelling all their crazy adventures together. Erin would probably enjoy them, though now wasn’t the time to worry about that. He had a pretty lady nuzzling into him and whispering delicate words. Jasper closed his eyes and smiled with a chuckle. She really knew how to get him going. Bringing his head down to her neck, he planted sweet kisses along her exposed skin, then lifted his hand up to skim up and down her arm. Sadly, a hospital wasn’t exactly the ideal place to be doing anything further than this, but he would at least try to make those minutes count.
That... that was definitely making it count. Erin grinned and closed her eyes as she tilted her head to the side for easier access. She was eager to see what plans he’d come up with for the two of them, and it was nice to have something to really look forward to. Though she hadn’t realized it at the time, the past few weeks had sort of felt like waiting for the axe to drop. Again. Now here she was, knowing it would drop tomorrow, and thinking only of making the best out of the day and night ahead of her. It wasn’t a bad head space to be in. Not at all. Coupled with the here and now? Pretty perfect. Jasper’s touch was leaving a trail of goosebumps, even beneath the sleeves of her lab coat. She had to resist the urge to shiver. It was going to be a good day.
He felt that little shiver from her, smirking at the thought that he was getting this reaction from her. Good to know that he still had it in him after... how long had it been again? Too long. Erin was probably not legal the last time he was this intimate with someone. Jasper continued kiss along her neck, tugging her lab coat out of the way enough for him to explore her collarbone. His lips touched the top portion of her lovely ink, teasing her with the idea of going down further, but instead lingered there. Pausing for a second, his breath beating against her skin, Jasper flicked his eyes on up to her, the little smirk of his never leaving his face.
It vaguely occurred to Erin, whilst she was trying to force her brain to resume regular functioning, that there had been a time - when she had first decided she was going to have to sleep with this man, or at least try - that she had figured that, because of how shy he was, she was going to have to do a lot of hand holding through the process. That hadn’t bothered her, really. She was a good teacher! But now, with... that, and him looking at her in that way, she was thinking she may have rushed too swiftly into judgment. Lord have mercy, I need to get out of this room. I need to go to work, with the dead bodies, and other non-sexy things, or the coat’s coming off and oh yeah, all bets are fucking off. She reminded herself to breathe, and forced herself to smile back. “I need to get to work, before you get me in trouble,” she decided. And with that decided and announced, she moved quickly - pushing him to his back and into the bed and pillows, swinging her leg over his to straddle his lap, and kissing him hard. It was far too brief for her liking, but she dare not linger any longer. That done, she pulled back and hopped off the bed. Then, she smiled sweetly. “Something to keep with you today. I expect to hear from you tonight.”
...well then. That was... yeah. Words did not exist in Jasper’s mind. They were gone. Somewhere... but definitely not in his grasp. This girl was kinky as all fuck and holy shit, she was his now. This was not something he planned on happening ever after getting his ass kicked by a vampire. Shit, he’d get himself banged up more often if it meant Erin would do that to him. Jasper just sat there and blinked, still registering the awesomeness that was bestowed upon him. It was delayed, but eventually he smirked at her. Yes, he was damn proud now. Looked like Erin just revived that younger side of him and he was going to need it with all the little things he was formulating in his head. He ran his tongue over his lips slowly, savoring that kiss for as long as he could, then finally found his words. “You will,” he reassured her. “Not polite to keep a lady waitin’.”
Erin grinned brightly as she stepped back into her shoes. Why, yes, she was rather proud of herself. She felt as if somehow she had just answered a challenge silently set before her and passed with flying colors. Every second it took for him to respond just added a little more to her ego. I am going to destroy him, she decided. And he’s going to love it. Yup, that was the plan. “Good,” she replied. “I’ll talk to you then. Looking forward to it.” Was. She. Ever.
