Forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait
Who: Kiley Ricks and Mason Normandin
Where: Kiley's house to start
When: Early afternoon
Any bitten were who claimed the full moons didn't bother them clearly needed to have their head checked, in Kiley's opinion. She knew a monster lived inside her and tonight it was going to come out, whether she wanted it to or not. Knowing she'd be locked in a stainless steel cage and therefore unable to hurt anyone was only a minor comfort. And knowing there was a big game of capture the flag and all sorts of other events going on at the university for the born weres? It was just rubbing salt into the wound, as far as Kiley was concerned.
She couldn't be alone right now and she knew it. Corwin would be there in the morning to deal with her then, and she'd always be grateful for that, but that didn't help her in the moment. So, she called Mason. She didn't want to be a burden, knowing he was alpha of his pack - her pack, by association - and therefore had plenty to take care of on the full moon. But Mason was the only person, aside from her brother, who made her feel safe, protected. Kiley needed that. After the moon, after she was done freaking out, she'd make it up to him.
Waiting for Mason to arrive, Kiley sat on her couch, looking down at the mess of scars covering her left arm. Here, in the safety of her house, she didn't have to cover them up, and she let her fingertips drift across them. Some were teethmarks, others from the were's claws. All the doctors said she'd been lucky to survive the attack, but at what price? Kiley had lost her parents - as well as a part of her humanity - in the span of one night. Mason always reminded her to keep her chin up, that being a wolf wasn't a death sentence. Today she was trying to remember that.
She heard the Ferrari before it parked in her driveway, and Kiley's head snapped up. Mason was here. Shrugging on a flannel shirt over her tee, she got up to get the door for him, trying to smile and mostly succeeding. After all, Kiley was happy to see him, even if the circumstances weren't great. Leaning in the doorway, Kiley pushed her hair out of her eyes. "Hey you."
