In a room, in a house, in a town
Who: Cole and Lilith
Where: Landers residence
When: Sometime after lunch
Okay, so, there was absolutely nothing wrong with rain. Cole had nothing against the weather - except for the part where it put a severe limit on what he could do with his day. Skateboarding in the rain was never as much fun as when it was dry and besides, he was not a huge fan of being wet. Hot showers were one thing; cold rain was completely different. Let his sisters go and play in it in their stupid little ice shelters that mom made for them. No, he was not jealous, like he even wanted to go out in the rain. Being left inside to do nothing was far better than getting soaked to the skin or struck by a bolt of lightning that came out of nowhere because of Isolde or something. Who knew what air elementals were capable of doing? Cole just knew that lightning could be involved because of something he had heard his mom saying one day. Or his dad. Whichever; one of them had said it and that meant it was probably true. And he was not getting a bolt of lightning to the head just because he lacked the immunity of his little sister. He doubted that the lightning would be anything like the little flashes of static electricity that he could make appear sometimes.
But anyhow - Cole was bored. He had his video games but those were just not what he was in the mood for. Rolling over on his bed and staring up at the poster of Shaun White hanging up on the ceiling he went over a list of what he could or could not do. If he wanted to irk his mom there were always the cigarettes stashed under his bed and the entertainment value never went out of moving things around the house so they were out of place. Yet none of those sounded appealing at all. Climbing out of bed and stretching out he reached up to brush a few tangles out of his head before moving into the hallway. Empty. Boring. Making a face at the rain beating against the window at the end of the hall he shuffled over to his parents room and pushed the door open. That was empty too so - oh! Cole's eyes went to his mother's closet and he grinned. Best way to spice up an otherwise boring day that would end in cabin fever was to go ahead and see if his mom had any new shoes for him to try on. A flicker in the back of his mind told him that maybe he should ask this time but he brushed it off and settled himself into her closet. It did not take long to find a pair of heels to his liking and he slipped them on before standing. Not even a wobble as he walked over the carpet to study them.
Hey, they looked good. Maybe he should wear these to the next party that someone had with that shirt he had gotten out of Niamh's closet a few months ago. The fact that maybe any other parent would come in and faint at the sight of him standing there like that never crossed his mind because he was pretty sure his parents had gotten used to it by now. Mostly.
