TIME UPDATE
DATE: Friday, July 31, 2009.
BIRTHDAYS: Bonnie
WEATHER: As predicted, things have cooled off in Ann Arbor, but things are actually pretty miserable. Temperatures have dropped into the mid-seventies, but humidity is at 100%, and it generally feels like you’re trying to breathe through cotton candy. It drizzles all day, and may get worse tomorrow.
EVENTS: A good chunk of the country is talking about yesterday’s double infanticide. Every hotel in the area is at full capacity, and reporters from all over the country are everywhere. CNN is talking about it at every free minute. Worst of all: the idea of forcing weres to register with the government has resurfaced with a vengeance. The issue has been a hot debate in the UK since May, though even there it has yet to be passed. What makes it that much more difficult is that it’s not a black and white issue of supernatural rights against human rights. Some supernatural rights activists think it would be a good idea. After all, it’s not that much different from an ordinary census, is it? And it would be handy right about now if the police were able to bring up a record of every were-snake in the area. Still, the idea does not sit well with a lot of weres.
Back to the matter of the poor babies that were so brutally and cruelly murdered, a $50,000 reward has been issued by the family for any information leading to an arrest.
