A risk you take
Who: Cecil (NPC), Jadyn, Kristen and Missy
Where: Peloe home
When: Early evening
Missy was trying to lie to herself as she got dinner ready. She was informing herself that she was mostly excited because she was going to get a fixed door and all she had to pay with was food. Really though, she knew that she was excited because she got to see Jadyn again. The woman had intrigued her in the hardware store and the occasional thought that the other woman was watching her when she did her daily reports was a little too thrilling. Calm it down, the reporter told herself as she finished chopping up the vegetables for the salad. Which hopefully would be liked by all because Missy would be damned if she was actually going to cook anything. Kristen was better acquainted with the stove but she was not particularly keen on having her little sister cook dinner for a woman she had already declared she disliked.
Wiping off her hands, Missy went to the foot of the stairs and tried once again to call up to her little sister. "Kris, come on, you can't sulk up in your room all night. That's not very polite!" But there was no response forthcoming and Missy just sighed. The last thing she was going to do was physically drag her down, even if she wanted to, because then the girl would be so far from polite that Missy would probably end up looking terrible and Jadyn would never come back. Nikita'd love that. Ugh, why does she have to have my sister blinded into thinking she's a good person? Rubbing at her forehead Missy was just about to go take another drink from her iced cappuccino when she heard the front doorbell ring. A bright smile washed away the frown that Kristen had caused and, forgetting for a moment her need for caffeine, Missy turned to answer the door as Mitzi let out a frenzy of barks to inform everyone that yes, there was someone there.
Pausing for a quick moment Missy turned to regard herself in the reflection offered by the glass over a painting that Kristen had insisted they buy. Pushing a flyaway behind her ear she nodded, satisfied with the overall appearance, smoothing out the cardigan she had been able to toss on thanks to the air conditioning. Satisfied at last that Jadyn was not going to take one look at her and declare she looked nothing like on the news after all, Missy opened the door. "Glad to see you found the place!"
