A family reunion beyond life and death
Who: Paige, Bunny, Raz, Calista & Freddie
Where: Outside Freddie's house (lol stalkers) and then inside Freddie's house
When: early afternoon
So here they were. Outside the Barker family home, across the street, all standing there looking up at the house like it would somehow tell them what to do. Paige felt relaxed, she had done this kind of thing before; but a medium Raz knew had come along, and she thought that was a great idea. According to what Bunny had told her, Freddie wasn't just going to believe some girl off the street and things might go horribly wrong, so she appreciated the backup. Thinking of Bunny, she must feel weird, being the only one who was unable to see Raz. Who, incidentally, was standing right next to her. "Bunny do you feel Raz there?" She asked. Sometimes the stronger they were, the more they made themselves 'noticed' by living people. Looking over the other two, she sighed. "So, do we wait for her to come out, or do we knock?" She asked, glancing back at the house again.
Bunny couldn't help but be glad they'd been able to do this during the day, as it was the full moon tonight. This whole experience was certainly proving a welcome distraction from her misery over Theodore. And it was misery, constantly flipping back and forth between heartbroken and just pissed. But ghosts and mediums had always been one of her many obsessions, and she couldn't pass this up - nor could she let Freddie go into something like this alone without a friend by her side. Still, she'd brought her digital camera - the one that had always reacted the most around Psalm-the-douche - and maybe, if things went well, she could try to get a few shots. "Um... definitely," Bunny answered, examining her arms, which were covered in goosebumps. There was a definite chill around them. She really wanted to ask where he was and introduce herself, but she kind of felt like a dork. "I think knock. If we just wait for her out here she'll feel like she's being ambushed. Or stumbling into an intervention. Not good."
Looking from Paige to Bunny and then back to Calista Raz decided he was a lucky fella indeed. It was more than just being around a bunch good looking ladies. He was just happy, and thankful, that they were all willing to help him talk to his sister. Bunny wasn't a surprise, he knew she and Freddie knew eachother, but he was surprised she was so cool about the whole thing. Being interested in ghosts and wanting to take pictures of them was one thing, dealing with them for real was something else altogether. He grinned at Paige and stood directly in front of Bunny, waving his arms wildly. "Well, she can't see me but I bet..." He stuck his hand out to press against her shoulder. Instead, the arm went through and he sighed. "..she can feel that." Whens he mentioned the cold he nodded. "I guess that's all I get for now. Here's hoping Freddie will buy it."
Calista wasn't sure which was more obscure: the fact she could see and talk with ghost or the fact she had surrounded herself with kids at least ten years younger than her. Thankfully it didn't bother her, but then again, what did? Looking on over to Raz, she smiled a bit as the boy tried doing something that a normal living person took for granted. Poor guy. While they decided whether or not to knock, Calista turned her attention to the door, made a quirky face, and then figured that maybe it was a good idea to go up and knock on the door. Was either that or they were going to stand outside all day. "Only one way to find out," she spoke up and then proceeded to walk on over to the front door and knock, pushing her hair over her shoulder while she waited. Besides, what was the worst thing that could happen?
It was lucky that Freddie happened to be downstairs at the moment, otherwise she would never have heard the knock on the door. People seemed to overlook the bell a lot, she wondered why that was. Stepping out of the kitchen while eating a banana, Freddie opened the door just a little bit. They might be Mormons. Or Jehovah's Witnesses. She wasn't going to put up with that bullshit. Peeking outside, she knitted her brow when she saw Bunny, a girl she'd seen around, and a woman she'd never seen at all. At least they weren't Mormons or Jehova's Witnesses. Hopefully. Nah, Bunny wouldn't just convert like that. Freddie opened her door wider. "Hi..." She said, slightly confused as to what they were all doing at her door. "What, um, what's up?"
That Bunny was feeling Raz's presence made Paige smile. That was good, that he could be properly felt now. Of course now, he was being extremely felt, considering he'd just crossed Bunny's shoulder. Paige sighed. "It's better than nothing." Turning to Bunny, Paige broadened her eyes. "Did you feel it? Oh, by the way, he was standing in front of you waving like a maniac." She thought to disclose, grinning. She appreciated that Calista had taken initiative, although Paige couldn't help but become a little nervous after she knocked. She had done this before, sure, but there were always unknown variables in these situations. When Freddie opened the door, Paige smiled. She and Raz weren't identical, but one sure did remind her of the other. "Wow, she does remind me of you!" She whispered to Raz.
Bunny shivered and rubbed her shoulder, but she was actually grinning. And when she realized she was grinning she about crapped herself, since she hadn't done that since she heard Theodore was gone. "...Thanks," she whispered, though it probably didn't make sense to anyone but her. I don't want to walk through him. That seems weird and strangely pervy. So she just stood there, looking at nothing and wishing she could see him. And then she heard the door open. "Um. Hi, Freddie. Can we talk?"
Raz grinned at Bunny before moving away from her. He walked backward, toward the door and nodded at Paige. "Of course she does. We're twins. Duh!" He laughed and hurried up to stand next to his sister. He didn't feel awe at seeing her anymore, after all, he saw her all the time though she didn't know it. Now he just felt excitement. He was going to get to communicate with her, finally. This would be amazing. Because he couldn't do a whole lot at this point he stood there and waited for the conversation to unfold. Besides, it wouldn't help to have Paige or Calista shout "HEY FART FACE!" for him.
The girl that showed up at the door truly did have some resemblance to Raz, or at least enough to make Calista furrow her brows and turn to examine Raz and then look back at the sister. Freddie, that's what her name was. Thankfully Bunny spoke up or else Calista would have spent a minute trying to remember it. "We're here to talk about your brother, Raz." She did her best to maintain some professional composure, seeing that unlike the kiddos, this was a job for Calista, one that she took pride in. If the others were too nervous about bringing up the topic, then she was going to be there to just throw it out on the table. Nothing wrong with ghosts, anyways, just as long as Raz didn't possess her to shout random crap.
This was all kinds of weird, from Freddie's perspective. She still had no idea what was going on, the girl she didn't know was whispering things, and the way Bunny got serious when she asked her if they could talk rubbed her the wrong way. "Yeah, sure. Is something wrong?" She couldn't help worrying, of course. When the woman whom she didn't know spoke, Freddie blinked. "What?" Well, yeah, that was just the topic she was keen on discussing with two strangers. And one of her best friends; this was too out of the blue. "What about him?" She asked, furrowing her brow more and more, getting progressively more suspicious. Because Bunny was the only one she really knew, Freddie turned to her, extremely confused. "Bunny what the hell is going on?" She asked softly, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
Sometimes Paige thought she might be much better at this if she was as much at ease with living people as she was with the dead. Sure, Calista had introduced the subject pretty well, there wasn't much else they could do to ease the blow, and getting to the point felt right. But then it seemed like Paige ought to say something, and Paige was too busy stuttering. "We're- you know-" She swallowed hard. "Mediums. We're mediums, well not Bunny of course you know that, but we are. I'm Paige." She said with a nervous smile, waving at Raz's sister. "This is Calista. We're mediums." She said again.
Bunny facepalmed. Did they have to jump right into it? Right on the doorstep? Really? She ticced a couple times, then shook her head rapidly as she waited for it to pass. "I'm sorry, Freddie. Paige is a friend of mine, I thought it would be better if I was here. But it's going to be okay. Do you want to go inside? Or chill in the backyard or something? I promise I wouldn't have let them come if I didn't think it was a good thing." Well, maybe not good for Raz, being stuck as a ghost and all, but obviously he had unfinished business. That's how it worked, right?
Raz watched the women stumble around the subject and shook his head. The look on Freddie's face made him, initially, laugh. It was like this was a big prank and he'd jump out of a box and go 'Ta-dah! I'm really alive!' And she'd punch him for playing such a mean joke and then they'd hug and be happy. Of course that wasn't the case at all. The suspicious tilt of her eyes had him worrying. "Watch it you guys." he warned Paige and Calista. "She's stubborn, you know. Don't freak her out right way, k?" He didn't want to lose his chance to talk to Freddie.
Calista saw nothing wrong with dropping the subject right then and there. What else were they suppose to do, talk about the weather and go about idle chat for a while before finally bringing up the real topic at hand? Sadly, that wasn't what she was used to with her job, so she failed to see what the problem was. Though when Raz spoke up, she turned to look at him and nodded. "Ok," she reassured the ghost before looking back to Freddie. No need to make his sister uneasy at all. She couldn't imagine what the poor girl was thinking or feeling, seeing that she dealt with ghosts all her life. Hopefully she wasn't contemplating on slamming the door in their faces. "We can go where ever you're most comfortable. No need to be overwhelmed." She gave the girl a slight smile in hopes she wouldn't freak out.
Anyone with half a brain would start connecting the dots by now, but Freddie was really keen on ignoring the voices at the back of her mind that were actively connecting said dots at the moment. When Bunny spoke, Freddie stared at her friend for a while before even saying anything, after which time she nodded and stepped away from the open door, to make way for them all to get in. "Sure, come on into the sitting room." She said, visibly confused, as she motioned for them to walk straight ahead into the one room without a door. She gave a nervous smile in the older woman's direction. "Make yourselves at home." Freddie said, taking a deep breath before closing the door and following them all into the sitting room. Good thing her mother wasn't there at the moment. Or anyone else, for that matter. "Can I get you anything, or...?" She asked, looking over everyone.
That the girl wasn't freaking out already was a very good thing, in Paige's opinion. In fact, she seemed stone cold calm, which was odd considering what Raz had said about her temper. Maybe she was in denial, a lot of people Paige met this way were, for a while. Shrugging her thoughts away, Paige smiled thankfully at Freddie and followed the others inside.
Bunny shook her head as she sat down next to Freddie, there just in case the girl needed hugs. Or to be held down by somebody with were-strength. You know, whichever. "Thanks, Freddie, we're cool." She squeezed the redhead's shoulders, and looked over to Paige and Calista to have at it.
Freddie's response surprised Raz. She was taking it a little more calmly than he thought but then again, maybe she was just caught off guard. That didn't seem like a stretch. When everyone filed into the house he followed behind. Instead of sitting, however, he stood next to his sister, eyeing everyone expectantly. He felt impatient but he didn't think asking them to get a move on would hurry anything on. Instead he waited for them to get this started.
Calista was a bit too busy eying the inside of the house, fascinated with a few objects hanging around before turning her attention back to the teens, realizing eyes were on her. Blinking with a blank stare on her face, she looked on over to Freddie, noticing that Raz had snuck behind her and couldn't help but smile gently at him. "Do you feel cold at all?" She questioned the redhead, her eyes flickering back and forth between her and Raz. It usually was best to ease into a topic like that slowly, so Calista did he best to take baby steps with the matter at hand. Though with Raz right behind her, how could she not feel cold? He was right there and she didn't even know it! Not yet, anyways. Hell, if Freddie still didn't believe them after awhile, then perhaps having Raz possess her would get the point across, though she preferred that as a last resort.
Bunny's gesture of affection, while making Freddie smile, didn't really put her at ease. And much less did the supposed medium's question. If that could potentially be a weird question for anyone, it was more so to a water elemental - not that Freddie would know one thing was connected to the other. Freddie knew of cold, but she couldn't say she'd ever really experienced it, not like others had, and certainly not now. "...What?" She managed to ask, tilting her head in confusion before following the woman's gaze from her to something else and back. "What are you looking at?"
Paige thought that by now and given the circumstances, Raz would be strong enough to make himself known to his sister through the cold thing. It was the most basic of all ways to make a ghostly presence be known, and she really thought Raz would have it down by now. That his sister didn't seem to feel him near threw Paige off a great amount, and she looked slightly exasperated at Calista and then at Raz. "Stand closer!" She told him in a fine voice barely above a whisper.
This was interesting. Bunny knew precious little about water elementals - you know, other than the standard 'holy crap that's awesome' - but she did know they didn't feel the cold as much. Would that have anything to do with feeling Raz? When she'd been close to the ghost, it felt like a lot more than just cold. She couldn't describe it. She'd felt like someone was close, she'd felt energy... or maybe that was just what she wanted to feel.
"Okay, okay. Fine." Raz rolled his eyes and moved closer to his sister. He made sure they were nearly touching. He hoped she'd feel him close. He had these ideas that maybe she'd sense him purely because they were twins. After he died he learned that this tenuous, mythical connections twins were supposed to have did not exist. At least not after death. "Fred." He said quietly. "I hope you can feel me."
Sadly, Calista was unaware of the fact that Freddie was a water elemental, and even if she did know, she wouldn't have connected the links together to figure out that feeling cold was difficult for said elemental. After blinking for a moment, she brought her blank stare to Freddie and replied, "Your brother. We did say we were here because of him... right?" She looked over to the other kids to make sure she didn't forget to mention that. Then she looked back to Freddie and her ghostly brother standing behind her, trying to figure out how else to get the point across if this wasn't working. "He said he hopes you can feel him. Somehow." Flicking her eyes back and forth between the two siblings, she waited to see if Freddie felt a difference now.
By the time the younger medium started talking to what Freddie could only see as empty space right next to her, Freddie could almost hear the Twilight Zone theme becoming louder and louder. She would attempt at writing them all off as crazy people, if not long after the girl, Paige, had spoken, Freddie hadn't felt the hair in the back of her head raise furiously, all of a sudden. Freddie froze in her tracks, and while she'd been looking from Calista to Paige to Bunny, right now she wasn't looking at anything. "Oh my God." She said, barely above a whisper, as she stood petrified. She didn't know what she was feeling, really, but she knew she had a whole lot of feelings right about now. So much so it was almost overwhelming.
She listened to Calista already sort of knowing what she was going to say, and somewhere along the way Freddie couldn't really hold back the tears anymore. Not that she had started sobbing uncontrollably, but the tears were certainly streaming down her cheeks by the time Calista said Raz hoped she could feel him. "I can." She said, her voice still barely coming out. Finally, Freddie looked to her side, where she could distinctly feel a presence that wasn't threatening at all, though it felt odd, of course. But by now Freddie had no doubts anymore, be it because Raz was a really strong ghost, or their connection helped him out here. "I can't see him. Isn't there a way to see him?" She pleaded, still half in shock and trying hard not to let the knot in her throat be untied. Under no circumstance was Freddie any good at letting herself show emotion in front of other people, she'd do her best to avoid it.
Well now this changed Paige's mood significantly, that Freddie was able to feel Raz. The girl grinned happily and crossed her arms in the way someone would when they're feeling accomplished. She looked to Bunny and Calista, happily, before looking back at Freddie and Raz. The smile faltered only a little at Freddie's question. "Not really, I don't think." She looked to Calista again for corroboration, though she was quite sure there wouldn't be a way for Freddie to see Raz unless she was a medium...or unless there were tons of mediums in there, perhaps. But that was impossible.
Well, shit. Bunny had had such an emotional couple of days, what with Theodore deciding to thoroughly dedicate himself to the path of the asshole, that when Freddie started crying, Bunny found herself tearing up, too. That wasn't supposed to happen! She reached for Freddie's hand and squeezed it, wishing like hell there was something she could do, and she wasn't just useless here... when she remembered. And for a moment, she didn't breathe, at the thought alone. "...There might be," she murmured, letting go of Freddie's hand in favor of pulling her camera out of her bag. "It's worked before." She stood up and moved a couple paces away, turning to face Freddie (and the unseen, ghostly Raz), while turning her camera on. After adjusting momentarily, she snapped a picture, sucking her breath in as she waited for the outcome.
Said outcome almost did her in. It wasn't the first time a ghost had shown up in one of her pictures - in their own, faint, ghostly way. But it was the first time it'd ever been someone known. She'd never really known Raz, but that didn't matter right now. His image on the picture was just white blurs and lights, and while there was potential to look for features once it was on the computer, her view screen was way too small to find such a thing. All the same, she offered it over to Freddie for viewing.
Raz fought the urge to leave Freddie's side to look at the view finder of Bunny's camera before she handed it over to his sister. Had she successfully been able to take a photo of him? That would be amazing. When he was able to peek over his sister's shoulder he was dissapointed by the image. It didn't really look like him at all. Then again, he had to remind himself that it was, at least, some sort of tangible proof of his existance and that was pretty amazing.
What was probably more amazing was that his sister knew he was there, for the first time since his death, she really knew he was around still. It was an amazing feeling. He kept as close to her as he could without actually touching her. It was weird for him and he didn't know how she would react to it. It wouldn't help to make things freakier. He looked at Paige and Callista with a wide smile. "Can you tell her 'It's nice to see you, FartFace.'?" He burst out laughing. He really didn't know what else to say. He thought when given a chance to see her he'd have so much more to say but now it was like he was blank.
Having Freddie suddenly break down into tears was not what Calista's expected as a response, but it was understandable, nonetheless. She didn't have any dead siblings, or any living for that matter, thus she wasn't able to understand the connection Freddie and Raz had, but she only hoped the tears were a good thing. Calista did take a moment to search through her bag to pull out a small container of tissues, knowing they always came in handy with her line of work after telling someone their dead relative or someone wanted to get in contact with them. After handing the tissues out to Freddie, she paused for a second to recall if there was a way for Raz to show himself. "Ghosts can materialize... but it's the most draining and tedious thing they can do. Usually it's easier in the presence of psychics, but...." She looked on over to Raz. "That's up to you." She wasn't going to force him to try something that would probably making him pass out. Hell, it might not even work, she wasn't sure, but with two mediums there and his sister? It was worth a try if he wanted to, even if it was for mere seconds.
When Bunny squeezed her hand Freddie looked to her friend and gave her a hint of a smile, looking then expectantly as Bunny said there might be a way. When Bunny pulled the camera out of her bag Freddie realized right away what she was going to do, and turned back to where she thought she might be facing Raz. As soon as Bunny handed her the camera she looked at the screen anxiously, and snickered. "Lights. You're a bunch of lights, Raz." She said mockingly, looking at the screen closely for a while trying to find Raz anywhere. It was a shitty last picture, but she was going to ask Bunny to print it out and she was going to frame it. It wasn't great, but it was pretty damn awesome.
Taking the tissue from Calista, Freddie wiped her tears from her cheeks as Calista spoke about materializing ghosts. "Well, I should hope Razzie doesn't mind getting exhausted just so I can see him just this once." She said, a hint of hope in her voice as she looked from Calista to where Raz would be standing.
It bothered Paige a little that it hadn't occurred to her to mention a camera, especially when so many of the pictures with her in them were filled with shapes, lights, shadows and presences - given she could have up to three ghosts around her at any given time. But not right now, funnily enough. As for materializing, Paige didn't think they had enough psychics and Razzie hadn't been dead long enough, in her opinion. But she could be wrong. She was only sixteen and had never been taught about her gift, she'd simply used it by following her intuition. There was definitely room for improvement. She pouted slightly when Raz was nothing but lights in the photograph, but chuckled at what Raz asked them to tell Freddie. "He said, and I quote, 'it's nice to see you fartface'. And then he burst out laughing." She told her, grinning.
Taking her camera back, Bunny decided she might as well continue taking pictures. Multiple shots meant a better chance of good shots, right? So that's what she did, though she kept the flash off so as not to disturb.
Nothing bothering to see Freddie's respond to his comment, Raz focused his attention on Calista. What was she talking about? "Materialize? I don't know..." He thought about all the times he tried to be seen, heard and felt with no success. He wasn't sure this was something he could do. "I'll be happy to try, but how?" The moment the words were out of his mouth he tried to do his best to focus his feelings and thoughts on being seen. He remembered how he was able to push the swing that one time. Maybe he could be seen in the same way. He poured his happiness and excitement of seeing Freddie in this way into it and hoped that he could be seen.
It was hard to tell if it was working or not, seeing that - hurhur - Calista could already see Raz as it was. This one was really up to Freddie and even Bunny to decide. She honestly hoped it work, even if for mere seconds. Then Raz could finally confront his sister and Freddie could see that they weren't crazy for confronting her. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Calista hoped she had enough tissues for Freddie if she did see her brother. Moments like these were never easy for anyone.
Giving a few chuckles at what Paige said Raz had told her to say, Freddie shook her head. "Once an asshole always an asshole, I see." But she obviously didn't mean it. She wished she could hug him, she would hug him so tightly she might break his bones if he was alive. Or even hold his hand, Freddie would be alright with that. Anything, at this point. "Come on Raz." She nearly begged, closing her eyes as if she was wishing him to visibility. Gazing expectantly at the nothingness where her brother was supposed to be standing, Freddie focused on the both of them, their relationship and how much they loved each other, how hard it had been to lose him. All of that would have to count for something. And after a while, though she couldn't say she was seeing him, the empty space in front of her didn't seem empty anymore. She was seeing a shape, more light than anything else, and little by little Freddie - helped by wishful thinking or not - began recognizing some of his brother's features. "Holy fuck." She said, tears of joy streaming down her face. "You're here! Oh my God you're here." She nearly whispered, shocked all over again.
Paige was on the edge of her seat, wiggling her toes with nervousness, waiting for something to happen. She didn't know if Raz was yet strong enough to make himself seen to non-mediums, but hers and Callista's presence sure helped. Plus, his connection to her twin sister had to help as well. It was too strong. She bit her nails while Freddie begged and Raz visibly tried to make it work. Before she could tell Freddie to try focusing she seemed to be already doing it, so Paige just waited. And then she noticed Freddie's reaction, and her smile grew. He was doing it! He was really getting there! Paige couldn't have been prouder, but she kept quiet. She was almost uncomfortable for witnessing the moment.
Well hell, now there were definite tears in Bunny's eyes. She kept going with her camera, knowing at this rate she'd run out of memory before the day was over. But she didn't want to miss a moment for Freddie!
Raz hadn't really hadn't thought that this would work. How many times had he tried just to touch a thing? Now he was trying to be visible? Like his sister and everyone else he just hoped that the fact that they were twins would help. He willed himself to be visible and for a moment, he was. The look on Freddie's face was amazing. He felt so happy, almost high, on her reaction. SHE COULD SEE HIM! "Freddie?" He said, unsure if she could hear him as well. "I've been here all along. Watching. Hoping you'd see me too someday. I love you." He gave his goofiest smile. He didn't want it to be too sappy, after all. His words were rushed, not knowing how long this would last. He was starting to feel tired.
Reuniting people with the ghosts of their loved ones was never a simple task in Calista's line of work. Hell, trying to convince them that someone who was dead wanted to see them was never easy. Part of her was concerned that perhaps Freddie didn't care about some random mediums showing up at her door and telling her, 'Hey, your dead brother wants to see you.' Though now there was no denying those tears in her eyes - she was happy. In some sense of the word, anyways. And even though Calista was far too mellow to be tearing up with everyone else, her eyes still managed to soften while a smile tugged on the corner of her lips. And just in case Raz's words weren't clear enough for Freddie, Calista decided to echo the ghost, "He says he loves you."
Although this was a very bittersweet moment, in that she was seeing her brother but wouldn't be able to see him forever, and he still wasn't all there, but merely a ghost, this hadn't registered for Freddie as of yet. Right now, she was beside herself with happiness, and sadness, and all in between. A bit of shock and disbelief, too. After all, she had no idea her brother was a ghost until minutes ago, let alone that with some effort, he could make himself visible. She couldn't exactly hear him loud and clear, more of sounds here and there that had her crane her neck towards him to try and hear better; but when Calista made it clear, Freddie's tears only doubled in strength. "Can you hear me?" She asked her brother. "I love you too. Okay? Wherever you go, you don't forget that, okay? I miss you so much!" She almost reached out to touch him but remembered that wasn't going to work. She turned to the mediums, "Please make sure he knows that, okay?"
Still smiling, endlessly proud of Raz and happy for Freddie, Paige shrugged. "I'm not sure he'll be going anywhere any time soon." She mused, and then nodded at the girl's plea. "He can hear you much better than you probably can hear him, don't worry. He knows." Then, she looked to Raz. He was feeling weak and she could tell, which was a shame, but considering how young a ghost he was, that he managed to appear to his sister had been some victory. "Raz you don't have much time. Do you have anything else you really, really want to tell your sister?" She urged.
Bunny wished she would have had the foresight to switch to video, but she'd had no idea that what Raz was doing was even possible until she'd seen it for herself. To the girl who had always been obsessed with ghosts, and always claimed it would be her life's achievement to see one for real? Yeah, this was a Big Deal. It blew her mind, and she knew every moment would stay with her forever. It was a miracle she remembered to keep clicking away and taking pictures, but that much was instinct with one Bunny Digby.
Looking between his sister and Paige, Raz agonized over what to say next. Yes, he had imagined an opportunity to tell his sister he loved her, missed her and more but he had also really wanted to tell her to take care of himself. Now he wondered if it was worth it. Then again, he didn't know he'd get this opportunity anytime soon. Sure the mediums were helpful but he doubted they'd want to be his messengers all the time. He sighed and looked at Freddie after giving Paige a nod. "Freddie... I love you and you worry me. You're not taking care of yourself. I know that life is shit. I'm gone, Dad... well he's dad and mom." He really hated that one too. "Anyway, you're strong and you don't need any of them, of us. Drinking yourself sick and being bad isn't going to help you. It just means you'll join me as a ghost sooner than later and I was honestly enjoying having some time to myself for once." He laughed and his expression softened. "You know what I mean." He could feel his energy waning. This was much harder to keep up than he thought. "Just live and be happy. Okay?" That was what was most important, after all.
It looked like Raz received the message from his sister loud and clear. Part of Calista wanted to relay everything that the ghost was saying back to Freddie, but it felt too personal for her to interfere in. If Raz wanted her to act as the middleman, she would do so, but until then she was merely going to step back and let the two share the moment, as fleeting as it was. Calista couldn't remember the last time she witnessed a ghost materializing in front of someone, but knew it almost always resulted in a tornado of emotions from the non-medium viewers. Glancing to the side, she caught a glimpse of Bunny to see that even she was emotionally moved by the situation. A light smile tugged on the corner of her lips as she looked back to Raz and Freddie, happy to the two could finally reunite. Even if it was for mere seconds, it was better than nothing.
Freddie's heart hurt when she heard that he didn't have much time. Even though she obviously knew she couldn't just see him forever, she wasn't ready nor did she want him to go anywhere. Although he probably would stay here, like Paige had said, but not being able to see him? Maybe she ought to carry a camera around from now on.
Thought she couldn't hear him she noticed he was talking, and saying something that was, most likely, very important, so she looked to the mediums, aching for answers. "What's he saying? I don't want him to go away, what's he saying?" She urged, another stream of tears falling down her cheeks.
Although she wasn't that good with people Paige sort of understood why Calista kept quiet, but as Raz's sister urged one of them to speak, she couldn't. She relayed the message exactly as he had said it, only in third person - otherwise it would be weird - and sighed in relief when she was done.
