Keeping hold of her emotions was enough of a struggle for Alanna, something that she was only beginning to learn how to do in the year since she had been bit. Her body language was another matter entirely, one that she did not have anything near a hold on, and Alanna was usually unaware of it. But with Aurelia so close and seeming to pick up on every last thing there was nothing the redhead could do but notice her own reactions. I really am like prey. It was a horrifying thought, somewhat sobering as well. How can I be friends with predators? They probably feel exhilaration at my fear like this one. Even Kiley? That made the redhead's heart fall right into feet and she forgot for the briefest of moments where she was and who was in front of her.
Until she spoke again. "Try and get you to be polite," Alanna finished. The fear was still there but it was overlayed by that realization that maybe half the world really did look at her like she was nothing more than something to be eaten. "Should have known better from a snake." Still trembling, Alanna stepped away from the wall and glanced at the stairs, hoping that now they would be empty. That Aurelia would leave her alone.
