Every last nerve ending in Alanna's body was on rapid fire and her mind was racing faster than even her heart. Nothing was right about this scenario and she was beginning to regret every action that had led up to her being here with this snake-woman. At least she had stepped ba- oh god, not again. An actual whimper slipped out and Alanna felt her back hit the wall when she jumped back. Nothing could disguise the predator lurking beneath the surface, a very fine veneer that Alanna was not buying in the slightest. Even without her inner chipmunk chittering a warning that could rival the city bells she would know that this was bad new.
And oh god... She knew that name. That was the name of the woman who owned this building. She was having a confrontation with her landlady. Good idea, chippy, let's just go and make myself into dinner? Then Roxy can have the apartment all to herself.
"I... Should... I need to go." Alanna was beginning to stammer, the blood drained out of her face. If she looked in a mirror then she was sure she could pass for a better ghost than the one that had possessed her iPod a few weeks ago. She tossed her head, wringing her hands together and deliberately not looking at Aurelia. "I... Didn't mean to, ummm..." No, she could not make any sense because all that mattered was keeping her cool. And she had to get away from this sadistic snake woman fir that to happen.
