Her vague moment of dear-meets-headlights had not gone entirely unnoticed, and Aurelia found herself idly wondering why weres seemed to have a problem with the scent of snakes. Then again, knowing what kind of were she was might answer that question. She took a breath in, abandoning her other senses momentarily while she filed through what she could pick up. Fur, grass, mud, trees... cat... That was definitely a cat, but the scent did not belong to her, though the animal probably did. Apparently her establishment permitted pets without her knowing.
Her hearing was only a little better than that of a human, but Aurelia still heard that. She also noted with delight the manner in which it was delivered. Cat got your tongue, sweetheart? Turning slowly on her heel, she tilted her head and moved back. Her invasion of the other girl's personal space was quite deliberate and it took all of her self-control not to turn into her natural form there and then to add the finishing touch.
"Sorry, could you say that again? I didn't quite hear you." Her tone was sugary sweet, with a slight shade of malicious intent that, in situations like this, she could never be rid of.
