Scene Lotto, part tres
Who: Brady and Oscar
Where: The Inn
When: Friday Morning
Brady may as well have signed change of address forms and start getting all of his mail sent to the Inn. It was basically where he did everything. With the benefit of the restaurant at the other end of the building, he didn’t really have to worry about much of anything. Except, he didn’t want to live where he worked. That was a level of pathetic that even Brady didn’t want to deal with. Or admit to. And yet, there he was, staying at the Inn nightly until he found a night manager to help take off some of the weight.
There was still so much weight. Brady had expected Oscar the day before, but that didn’t happen. If he were a more cutthroat individual, Brady would have written the man off. Certainly, he felt that a call would have been proper, but if it didn’t happen it didn’t happen. And though he had someone who was possibly interested in the inn’s exterior renovations, there was still a lot more to do. He had an appointment with an interior person later in the day. Honestly, Brady was just glad that the place wasn’t crumbling. Given the apathetic attitude that the family had given it in the years since his grandmother’s passing, it was a minor miracle.
A group of people were checking out. They were very open about getting away from town before the full moon. It was something that made Brady a little bit nervous, too. If it wasn’t an invasion of privacy, he would have probably asked the patrons if they were lycanthropes. But then what would he have done? Nothing. All he could do was hope that, if there were some, they didn’t go on some rampage. And… maybe it was time to look into getting some sort of reinforced area for lycans who were staying. Or would that be insensitive? Things weren’t as clear cut as he would have liked them to be.
If nothing else, he could leave the inn alone that night and stay home in Ann Arbor. Because that wouldn’t be wrong… no, not at all.
