The siren shied away from the blade, turning her face and trying to crane her neck away from the raven haired woman. Kikuya didn't have black hair. Adelle turned her face back, braving the blade to get a good look. Indeed, Kikuya's face was a washed out gray, and her hair was a deep, but not very rich, black. A look at her own hand showed pale gray skin and a dark viscous liquid running from her palm. The lights were beginning to go and she supposed that the adrenaline was long gone.
Adelle thought for a second that she was so affected by her loss of blood over the last several days that she was losing the ability to break down and understand English, but then she realized that Kikuya was barking at her cat in her native tongue. A few days after first seeing the cat, she'd gotten the news about familiars, so she put two and two together now and realized that she wasn't being spoken to, Kikuya was saying something to the cat. Maybe it's primary language was Japanese, or it thought in Japanese, or something. Adelle's head nodded forward, and as her neck met the blade she rose sharply and stared wide-eyed at Kikuya before her knees buckled.
"That's enough." The siren attempted to wrest her arm from the blood witch's grasp but she was far too weak already. She placed her other hand on the counter to steady herself but she could feel her knees buckling.
