Kajsa, who had been going on about some problem with one of the lawyers in her office while Linnea listened attentively, suddenly cut off. At first Linnea was confused but then she realized that Bradley was stepping up and setting plates down in front of them. And the smell wafting up... Linnea's eyes widened and she forgot to say hello for a moment as she observed the food. "No, we weren't waiting long at all," Kajsa said. "Nice to see you again."
That shook Linnea back into the moment. "I was only kidding when I mentioned Finnish food, Kivi. But this looks amazing. Did you make the cloudberry jam yourself?" As far as she was concerned that was the only way to eat it, but if Bradley had done it differently then she supposed it could not be all that bad. Right? It did smell good.
"I've never seen anyone other than mom make Finnish food so this is a little amazing," Kajsa laughed with a shake of her head. "So excuse me while I dig right in and see if I've been missing out on something." She ignored the quick look Linnea shot her and did as she said.
"How are you tonight?" Linnea asked, choosing the Karelian pastry to start with. Again she was surprised because it tasted good. Not that she had not expected Bradley to do a good job... she was just that unused to anyone other than herself cooking Finnish food. It was almost enough to bring a tear to her eye. "This is wonderful."
