"Yes, my house isn't far away." As the crow flew. The child was an Aussie. Unusual for Michigan, but not so far out there. But Ava was playing a child, so she reacted with a child's enthusiasm. "You're from Australia," she stated with delight. She'd been over a century in the US; she'd long ago lost her native British accent. Sure, she could mimic one with relative ease, but what was the point anymore?
Though she could've made it up with just a simple jump, Ava was ever mindful of her ruse and chose to climb atop the monkey bars the way a normal child might. Climbing up until she could reach the bar (which required a bit of a hop on top of the height the step gave her), she swung her legs up to hook on the bar just behind it, then tucked her body between the two rungs and pulled up until she was sitting atop them. Pushing her hair back, she smiled - once again careful of her fangs. "I'm Ava," she said. "Did you just move here?"
