Liza hadn't left the book store all day, she just couldn't bare going home and moping around. she decided that she would finish her book and then she would go in search of another until the shop closed, or she got bored. She was standing in line at the coffee shop, people watching as usual, when she noticed what was going on at the front of the line.
A man was deciding over what to order, clearly confused. She shook her head and tried not to laugh, she thought it was incredibly funny that people didn't just figure out what they wanted while they were in line. She watched with growing interest as his expressions changed from debating to confusion and even a little desperation.
The man in front of her leaned over to the confused man in front and helped him out by ordering his drinks. This gesture both touched and surprised Liza. She was touched because it wasn't every day that people did things for each other, and surprised because she wanted to know how the man knew just what to order. She shook it off as him just being a coffee connoisseur and a very good people reader, or possibly an acquaintance.
"That was very nice, what you did for that man." Liza said out loud to the man.
"I'll have the same too please." she said to the man at the counter. whatever he had ordered sounded really good, and she realized that if she bought anymore coffee she might just spontaneously combust from pent up energy.
