A triumphant reunion
Who: Hawk and Tilly
When: Wednesday June 17, 5 pm
Where: U of M hospital
Hawk had spent the past few days wandering the streets of Scarlet Oaks. His van had yet to be returned to him - it was considered evidence in an ongoing case, not to mention it wasn't in the slightest bit inhabitable. And while Jean had offered multiple times Hawk a place to stay, he couldn't be in Tilly's house without Till! While he had been called many naves in the few days like dirty hippie, street kid, and his favorite - crazy homeless guy, he stayed in town, always near a store with a television so he could watch the news every time it aired. He needed to know as soon as anything happened any news of the missing teens.
Sure he had not slept in 3 days and eventually he was just going to fall over where he was standing and just sleep. He figured he had a couple more days in him, and at least a week before he really needed to eat something more than the occasional scraps he was given by a couple of nice people. It wasn't yet five, so he wasn't near a television when he heard people talking excitedly about something happening at the University of Michigan's hospital. "Yeah, yeah, dude they were all found alive. I guess it was some blood seller or something?" One of the guys said.
Hawk's heart started racing as he walked closer to the group. "Are you talking about the kidnapped teens? They found them?" He asked frantically.
The guy nodded. "Uh yeah, senior stinky pants, they did. They took them to the hospital at the university."
Hawk's eyes went wide and he was so excited he seriously contemplated giving the guy a kiss. Lucky for the man, he didn't but instead ran to the bus stop and waited for the one that's route went to the University. It took all the money he had left to purchase the bus ticket, but he would have gladly given the clothes off of his back to get to where Tilly was. When he got to the hospital, though, there were people everywhere. It wasn't easy, but he slipped past the receptionist and went down the halls, looking for her. Ten minutes later, he was standing in her door way, watching her sleep. There she was, bruised, bandaged, damaged, but still the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Better than a sunset, a thousand sunrises, free pizza for life, or any other thing he used to value highly. She was alive, because of this he couldn't help but cry.
