New town = new friends Who: Ezekiel and Bunny When: Sunday June 14th, late morning Where: Streets of Scarlet Oaks
Ezekiel didn't often leave the house by himself, but he was planning on getting his sister something special, which meant he had to be away from her and careful of what he was thinking so she wouldn't accidentally find out. He had a habit of letting everything blurt out to her. Not that he really minded her knowing beforehand most of the time. But lately, with their parents acting so strange, and Violet giving up on the never ending fight for her life, he wanted to be able to surprise her, to let her know that life was still beautiful and amazing and wonderful and forever surprising no matter how long or short the rest of her life would be.
Though he had always lived in Michigan, Scarlet Oaks was still something he couldn't quite wrap his head around. Not that he had any problems with all of the supernatural people living there, it was just strange that there were so many of them all in one area, whether by coincidence or not. Life was strange like that. While most boys his age were either in a crappy car or riding their skateboard, Ezekiel was walking. He had a scooter, but today he felt like walking. He didn't know the place all that well and he'd rather just take it all in than not be able to see all of the nuances of the town. Besides, it wasn't like he could read the street signs very well with a helmet on. He had to know where he was going first in order to get there. And today? He didn't quite know where he was going. At least he had on good walking shoes
