Cheering up the upset kitty.
Who: Niko and Isis and eventually a tiny bit of Seth
When: Evening
Where: Niko's house, then Isis's, and eventually phone lines
It had drizzled all damn day pretty much and Niko had busted his ass dealing with it. Scott hadn't shown up for work, but Niko really couldn't blame him for it. Not with everything that had gone one. So he just dealt with the rain and didn't bother heading back home. Things still needed to get done. When Niko got home, he expected to be pounced on. In fact, he was hoping for it, but when he pushed through the door he was met with silence. That was definitely odd, but then again, she could be napping. And if she was napping, he didn't really want to wake her. Either way, he headed through the house and into the bedroom to check. When he got there, she wasn't sleeping.
Glancing around the room, he found the pile of post-it notes he'd written that morning next to the computer and frowned at them. Heading back through the house, he looked in all the other rooms but found no trace of her, so back to the bedroom he went. He was already thinking that maybe the post-it's had been too much. Maybe she'd been upset because he was becoming to clingy or something. Maybe it had been a bad idea to put the notes all around. And then he saw her cartouche sitting by the table and he knew something was wrong. She wouldn't leave it, even if she was pissed at him.
His stomach felt like it was tied in knots and he glanced at the computer screen and arched a brow at the open email. He read through what was on the screen and then back through the replies and frowned. Great. She wasn't pissed at him, but she was upset. He closed the email and snatched up the ring then went through the house to find her keys and wallet. If she'd left without the necklace, he figured she must have hauled ass in cat form. Hauled ass in the drizzle of the day. Lovely. Hopefully she'd gone to her house because that was where he was heading.
It didn't take him long to get there and once he had, he unlocked her front door and headed into the house, stopping only to wipe his feet and then went straight for the bedroom. Down on all fours in front of the bed, hair damp from the moisture in from outside, he sighed. "Isis, baby, have you been under there all afternoon? Come out, please?"
