If Jo had any fears - and she did, she had many, like anyone else - but if someone was to ask her what her biggest one was, it had to be having to be away from her pack for some reason. Even if one of them happened to be away it was felt, like a restlessness that wouldn't let her enjoy herself. Right now, everyone was around, and fine, and everything was fine. If it depended on Jo, that's how it would always work. She wouldn't trade that warm sense of safety and the lightness that came with it for anything in the world.
Turning to Sam, Jo sighed. "Sam, you know I can't lie to you." She would absolutely sneak some bacon strips while she was cooking them, and they both knew it, too. Especially with how hungry she was. She feigned shock at Sam's growl, continuing with a scoff at the name he called her. "I am not! I just can't very well cook from behind or around all six feet of you. Give or take." She looked him up and down as she spoke to illustrate her point.
As the bacon and butter were already at hand Jo simply began lathering up the pan, looking around when Sam asked about toast. "Toaster's on toast in a second!" She said, stepping away to get the bread, put them on the slots and press the button. Then she returned to her spot next to Sam and smiled up at him. "Okay, now toaster's on toast duty."
