It had been a long dull day for Skylar, well, another one to go with the three previous, though yesterday hadn't been as bad since there had been shopping and snarkish banter involved and that was always good. In all honesty though, she was missing company of a more familiar sort. It seemed she'd gotten to town just as all of her friends were taking off or had already gone off for their own summer trips and she had been starting to wonder if this was the start to a long lonely summer.
Thankfully her aunt had reminded her that Theodore would be home today before she'd gone off to the shop so Skylar actually had something to look forward to today other than wandering 'round town aimlessly.
She showered and got dressed, shot off a text to Theodore before starting on the few chores her aunt had asked of her while waiting a response. After a couple of hours passed without reply she made some lunch then hung out in her room with her guitar and song writing notebook. Boredom was never really good for her songwriting skills and soon enough the guitar was back in it's case, the notebook on the floor and Skylar lying on her back staring at the ceiling tiles until eventually drifting off.
Her lids had snapped open at the sound of her phone's text alert going off, she glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table as she reached into the pocket of her cutoff shorts to retrieve the phone, she crinkled her nose at the time and flipped open her sidekick a small grin playing on her face as she read Theodore's long awaited response and she shot off a bit of a snarky reply and soon the two were texting back and forth.
Theodore was a nice boy, they may not have had a lot in common, but Skylar had always enjoyed his company during her past summer visit and actually looked forward to hanging out. So it was a definite yes when he asked if she wanted to go to dinner and she was actually pretty psyched.
She blinked at her phone when she received his last text telling her to open the door and grinned widely as she hopped out of bed and bounced down the stairs to the front door. "What took ya so long?"
