there she was, like disco lemonade
WHO | Emyli and Eileen
WHERE | Emyli's trailer
WHEN | Night
Conveniently enough, Emyli had left her phone under a shirt she'd been wearing earlier. Whether or not she left it hidden on purpose was a nugget of truth that had been lost somewhere in the number of shots she'd taken at the bar an hour ago and remained buried under thick gauze that came from the pills she'd downed with them. Her phone had been going off it seemed all day. First, Toby wanted to check in on her and see why she was avoiding him. The boy was stoned ninety percent of the time, but he wasn't an idiot. He knew something was going on with her, something that scared her and chased her into harder shit than she did with him, but she couldn't tell him what it was. How would he even respond to it, knowing that she'd promised to shell out her blood for money?
Then there was Bianca. A pleasant surprise and someone whose company truly delighted the Dream Eater. Bianca was unusual and never claimed to be anything more than she was. Hell, that in itself was enough of a trait in common with herself to draw Emyli to the brunette. She was just about ready to make plans with her... well, friend didn't exactly fit but she didn't know how else to describe Bianca, when she was suddenly getting messages from Eileen. Agreeing to give the redhead her blood for a metric shit ton of cash was easy enough when she was drunk at work and wasn't actually on the receiving end of a knife, but thinking about seeing another vial full of her blood in the hands of that woman turned her stomach.
So, she did the only thing she could really think to do: she partied. Emyli left her tiny, trashy trailer in an equally trashy outfit in search of anything and everything that would ruin her sobriety. She wanted to forget about Toby and those pitiful big blue eyes of his that reflected adoration in her direction; she never should have stepped into his dreams. She could use him for sex, drugs, and everything else under the sun, but his dreams should have been out of bounds from the get go. As for Eileen, she knew what would be waiting for her when she came back home and that was the only reason she even made it back to the trailer. Oh, she was an asset and something valuable for the redhead, but she had yet to forget the fact that Eileen had stabbed her once already.
Tempting fate wasn't in her agenda for the night.
The storm door creaked loudly and it banged against her shoulder as she fought with the aluminum door on the other side. The handle was missing a few screws and it had be held just the right way to operate properly and being completely blitzed did nothing to help her open the damn thing. A jingle and click later, she pushed through and found herself in her living room, and there on the couch, was the woman paying her for her blood. A heavy sigh rolled out of Emyli's lips and her head rolled lazily on her neck as she looked over at Eileen.
"Been waiting long?" So much for not tempting fate.
