WHO | Farren & Anastasia
WHERE | Edge of Summers' property
WHEN | Afternoon
Not once would Farren admit to just how troubled she had been while her brother and sister were trapped inside of the high school. If she were to be honest with herself, truly and unabashedly honest, she would have realized that life without her youngest siblings absolutely tore her apart. Anytime one of her siblings was away for any length of time, she found herself missing them profoundly, but it wasn’t until there was an element of jeopardy involved that it occurred to her how much she loved and cared about her family. Because of this little thing at the high school, Farren also realized just how much like her mother she was in this regard. Family meant everything and anytime that family was threatened, the rest of the world was to blame. Once her family was safe and secure, she was bound and determined to not let them out of her sight.
Which was exactly why Farren was outside, roaming up and down the road on their property. The plain and simple truth was that she connected the resemblance between her mother and herself and the thought sent her mind reeling. If she noticed, the rest of the family could too and it was only a matter of time before they started in on her about how good of a mama wolf she could be. And then the blind dates would start in again and dear god she could not handle that. So, in order to keep her family’s eyes off of her, she decided to spend sometime outside. Her excuse? To make sure that no one came snooping around the property. Press, government officials, anyone. She would make sure that her family was undisturbed.
She caught the scent of an unfamiliar wolf and though she could sense that the wolf wasn’t really close enough to be considered any sort of threat to the rest of the pack, she wasn’t really in the mood for taking chances. Her shoes scuffed the sidewalk as she got closer, stealth or sneaking up on the wolf in question not even an issue. She wanted the wolf to know that she was coming. Her arrival was not so much a “get the fuck away,” but more of a “you’re getting a little too close for comfort.”
When she saw the wolf, she stood, planting herself square between the girl and her home. She was quiet for a moment, just watching to see what the other wolf did.
“You new around here?”
