Eventually, Kiley would fill Mason in on everything he'd missed since being stuck inside, right when she found herself able to let him go. She didn't doubt that once the Normandins knew where he was, he'd have to go and deal with the pack, and she wouldn't begrudge him his time with his family. But that didn't mean she was going to share him a moment sooner than she had to. Yes, she was being possessive, but she was a wolf now, and it was kind of what they did. And, well... it was Kiley's way of claiming him, in a sense. He wasn't her mate, but he was hers regardless. After this, Kiley couldn't let him go, metaphorically speaking. Hell, even physically speaking, considering how she was still wrapped around him.
She caught that moment of hesitation in the way he said her name, and her brow crinkled for a second, wondering if something was wrong. Kiley had nothing to worry about, not when he said those three little words to her. I love you. She'd already sorted out her own feelings long before this. She'd known she was in love with Mason for a while. She just hadn't wanted to scare him by saying it too soon, so she kept that to herself. "I love you too," she told him, beaming at him through her tears. "I've always loved you and trust me when I say, I didn't doubt you for a second." She giggled, leaning her forehead against his and just taking in his scent. All that waiting, all that anxiety, it had been worth it to see the way he looked at her now, the words he told her. "Say it again?"
