It wasn't unlike some movie, the two of them running towards each other. Kiley wasn't the only one trying to get in, nor was Mason the only one trying to get out, and she had to dodge more than one person on her way through the crowd. Any other time, she would have stopped, apologized like a normal human being, but all she could manage now was a quick "Sorry!" tossed over her shoulder as she kept on going. All that mattered right now was Mason.
By the time she got to him, there were tears in her eyes, and her arms went around his neck as he lifted her up. It hadn't escaped her that they were in public, that they were never so open with each other like this in front of anyone else, but she didn't care. If his family got their panties in a bunch over the fact that she got to him first, let them. Mason would put them back in their place later. Right now all she could do was murmur his name, over and over. The littlest things were so reassuring to her right now - his scent, his heartbeat in her ears. He was here. He was okay.
Without a thought to whether or not his knee would be able to hold them both up, Kiley wrapped her legs around his waist to steady herself. He wasn't putting her down and she wasn't letting him go and that was that. She pulled back just enough to kiss him, hard, trying not to cry. "Oh thank fucking god you're okay," she breathed to him.
