having a look around
Who: Charlene and Melia
Where: Redleaf Lake
When: Evening
Nixie was definitely gone.
It had been... no, Charlene had no idea of how long it had been since she had seen her sister, but it had definitely been longer than she was used to going. For awhile there it had felt like she could not turn around without running into the other mermaid. Now? Now she could not even smell her in the water. Not scale nor fin was to be spotted of her and it was worrisome. More worrisome was the fact that she had not seen Roxy for the past few days either. Was her penguin busy with something? She had even used the phone that she kept carefully tucked away in her shed to send her one of those text messages. What had not occurred to her was that she needed to check it again to see if she had a response. She had a terrible, terrible habit of expecting it to work right that moment as the televisions did and if it did not then... well she forgot about it for a time.
Now the most pressing matter really was where her sister had gone. The last time she had been missing had been for a terrible reason - that hunter who had shot them both and taken her - but this time nothing like that had happened that she knew of. And surely Nixie would be too careful now that she had been netted... maybe she just left? Without saying goodbye? It'd be kind of like her... But still, Charlene was not quite willing to just let it go without trying to find her. Which was why she had sprouted legs, pulled on a dress and made her way through to the lake in the area. She was almost positive that one of the other mermaids she had met stayed there. It was a nice little lake and she would not have minded staying there herself, but it had been taken and she had a very nice spot in that wreck in the river.
Arriving at the lake, Charlene was not surprised to see that the surface was still. Just because she thought a mermaid lived there - which one was it? ...she had forgotten - did not mean she would always be able to see them. It would be easier once she was in the water, which took only a moment and felt far better than being above it. Opening her eyes she glanced around before sending out a questioning click to see if anyone might be home.
