Ugh, Lark hated that question. She didn't really have it in her to lie. She always found it uncomfortable and unnecessary, but sometimes the truth was just too much. "My brother and sister live here," she said, which was the easiest answer, but nowhere near the whole answer. "I didn't have anyone left for me in Tennessee, so... fresh start, I guess?" She felt a little nervous, most of it coming from the shame of knowing she'd done something really stupid, and yet would still make the same decision again.
Letting Maddie talk on about the supernatural scene was much easier to deal with.
