Maybe if Blair wasn't so used to carrying on conversations in her mind by herself, she would have caught on that someone else was implanting thoughts into her head much quicker. As it was, Blair often found herself alone at home and in conversations with either herself or her dog. It had been several years since Blair called home when she was bored, especially not after her parents had expressed disappointment at her lack of commitment to making a home for her and Neil. She was good at what she did, dangit...even if she wasn't happy all the time, she did find joy in making an elaborate centerpiece from flowers in her garden. And with her little business, she was kept fairly busy so she didn't have too much time to be lonely. Except she was. And she carried on conversations with herself when she was putting things together. She really just had too much time to think and stew nowadays. Which was probably why she didn't catch on to the angel speaking to her telepathically. Although she never really had conversations with herself in a man's voice (not even Neal's) and certainly she'd never had these sort of intense conversations in public. After all, it simply wasn't done.
Tut, Blair responded to the voice...herself? She didn't really believe that, now did she? That was more of Fiona's radical thinking. Maybe Fiona had said something along those lines at one point? She wouldn't put it past her hellion of a sister. But that's exactly the matter with families nowadays, now isn't it? Women are getting it into their heads that they can be providers for the family...they put off marriage to work and climb their career ladder. They put off children and a home and where does that get us? Over-educated women who cannot find partners because they have properly emasculated their supposed male 'counterparts'. We are creating generations of assholes for our children as men become bigger and bigger jerks the longer they put off the responsibilities of marriage, children, and a household. Women working and burning their bras for equality are not helping the situation. They are simply making an embarrassing spectacle that deprives men the ability to be men while creating more women who wish they could be men instead of simply embracing what they are supposedly truly fighting for - femininity. Blair bit down on the side of her nail. It had been a while since she'd opened the Pandora's box in her head and she wasn't at all liking this conversation. It involved opinions she'd received and even formulated herself. She wasn't meant to have opinions other than whether or not the chicken was done right.
