Today had not necessarily been a busy day, and Orion had taken it upon himself to leave a little early from the office. He'd opted to walk down the street to the super market, where he'd planned to get food for dinner. It was his night to cook and he was sure he just needed a few odds and ends. The walk didn't take long as all, and the angel admitted that he was enjoying the change in the weather. Sure, it was a little damp, with a shower here and there, but Orion found he had a special fondness for overcoats. It was the simple things in life, sometimes, that made him happiest. His trek to the store had him lingering in the aisles as he picked up all the things that he needed. His ears were always trained for any tell-tale sign of someone sounding idiotic, as well as his eyes, sweeping up and down the store as he walked. Today, it seemed, the Angel of Wisdom was bound to be disappointed.
Groceries bought, Orion made his way out of the store, pausing to pull the collar of his coat up around his neck as he exited the store. A pre-occupied brunette woman bumped into him and he took a step back, making sure there wasn't any damage done to the bread he'd bought. Her murmured apology was faint, but there. He said a soft "no worries," beginning his walk back to the office. He wasn't quite sure if it was the tone in the woman's voice as she took her phone call, or the brief stirring of irritation that made Orion hesitate, but he did. He leaned against the side of the building, making it look like he was checking the groceries in the bags he was carrying. He listened intently to this side of the conversation the brunette was having, feeling his virtue narrow down on her like a spotlight. Orion couldn't put his finger on what it was about this woman that made her seem like someone he would be concerned with, but he waited to figure out.
Ah, there it is. Her comment after she said her goodbyes had that figurative switch flipping inside Orion's brain. He stood up straight, seeming to grow in height and presence. He was close enough to open up his telepathic link with the woman, repeating her words right back to her. "College funds. For girls. What do they need higher education for...", spoken using her own voice, with an edge added so that her words sounded more sarcastic rather than serious. Orion then used his own voice to put his two cents worth straight into her head. "The wisdom you seem to be lacking here is that young women have just as much intelligence as men, with the same right to pursue it. Times have changed, you would be wise to accept that." As always, there was a weight to the link, the angelic magic that made Orion what he was leaving a trace. It seemed as thought this subject would be a little more skeptical than others, from what'd he'd gathered. The wisdom was there, though, left like a magical gift inside her mind. It was always interesting to wait around and see how different people would react to the new ideas they were presented with.
Glancing in the woman's direction, Orion tried to carefully watch her unobtrusively, though it was very often difficult for him to keep a straight face. The trace of annoyance was there, in the slight crease between his eyebrows as he waited.
