The more that Marco talked about a run, the more Drina was liking the idea. The best way to relieve the tension that had built into her shoulders would be some form of physical exertion and a race around town really sounded like something she could enjoy. Even if she was totally unsure about the whole shifting at will thing. "How?" she asked, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. Drina never could stand the idea of someone knowing more than her on any given subject or being better than her; it was part of what drove her to be such a good agent in the FBI. It was also what kept her working as long as she had during her pregnancy. She could never leave any loose ends or open cases behind. But ever since she had been bitten, her world had been turned on its head. There was nothing she could rely on anymore. She couldn't even trust herself to know the difference between an intruder or a hallucination. So far, the only constant she had found was Marco... and even then she felt a little silly for latching onto him so quickly.
"I just mean, how are you supposed to shift? Without the moon?" Suddenly, she had the idea that she needed to learn about what she was and what that meant for her. After the attack, Drina didn't even realize that there were other people like her until the Light of May and even then she wasn't about to seek them out for answers. She was suddenly a monster guilty of killing; her life was forfeit. It wasn't until she arrived in Scarlet Oak that she started to have a change of heart. Maybe she could learn to live with what she had become? She'd never forgive herself for killing that man or for leaving Heath without a single goodbye, but maybe she could be alright enough to move on? "We can shift without..." She didn't need to say the rest. Marco would understand; the moon governed his transformations just the same, which meant that he lost his mind the same way that she did.
She pushed herself off the couch and hooked her thumbs into her belt loops, grinning slightly. "I'm all for running. Just show me how to do it and you're on. And for the record, I like it when a man cooks dinner. Helps keep him in line," she laughed. She may not be as knowledgeable as Marco on the matter, but she was bound and determined to win.
