see right through you
WHO | Drina and Marco
WHERE | Drina's Place
WHEN | Afternoon
The best part of working double shifts for a week or more was the well deserved evening off. Especially when it wasn't scheduled. With the other waitresses returning back to work finally, one of them decided to pay Drina back by working her shift. With a suddenly free afternoon, she decided that she'd run home, grab a quick change of clothes and head to the dojo where she could get back to training with Troy. Hell, maybe she'd even call Marco and see if he had any plans for the evening. Something told her that he didn't. That was the odd thing about Marco; every time she called to see if he wanted to hang out, he was always free and willing. Not that she was complaining. She was just getting a little too used -- and comfortable -- to him being around all the time. Walking into her apartment, Drina kicked off her shoes next to the door and closed it silently behind her. Her keys and bag were flopped down next to the couch. One whiff of the place and she could pick up Marco's scent. It was like he was right there in the apartment it was so thick, but she didn't see him anywhere. Clearly a sign that he's here all the time, she thought to herself. Having him around gave her a reason to cook, which meant that she was eating much healthier and heartier than she had been when she first moved to Scarlet Oak. It didn't matter that he was one of the only friends she had made since moving here, either. Drina couldn't stand to be alone for very long and, as long as Marco was willing to keep her company, she didn't have to. It did strike her as odd, though, that she was always thinking about him. His scent being all over everything didn't help that fact. His scent had somehow slipped into her clothes. It was so heavy that Drina couldn't shake the idea that he might have been there. I'm crazy. He's just here a lot. An awful lot. She decided that she would feel less crazy after a shower, so she stepped into her bedroom and slipped out of her shirt, tossing it onto the bed. She chose to ignore the fact that the shirt had a very large fox on the front of it; she had found it in a thrift store some time ago, before meeting Marco. Just stop it. You're not a teenager with a crush. Her tiny bathroom was connected to her bedroom by a small door and Drina leaned in to twist the knobs of the stand-in shower. She pulled her pants off and threw them onto the bed before pushing the bathroom door to. She pulled off the rest of her clothes and stepped into the shower, adjusting the temperature. Drina had no idea that she was not alone in her apartment, or the fact that there was a more legitimate reason behind Marco's scent being so thick in the air. |
