Not sensing any sort of apprehension from Roxy, Charlene just kept on smiling. 'I don't know. Four hundred maybe? Which doesn't seem so nice when I know that you won't live that long...' Yes, Charlene wrote that part out on purpose to see how Roxy would react. From what she knew of penguins they mated for life and Roxy had called her her mate in addition to her girlfriend. Which meant that she was hers for her lifetime and Charlene had accepted that happily. She wanted to keep the pink-haired were to herself and would happily give her all of the rocks that she needed to keep it that way. Charlene was even willing to spend an entire night out of the water for her. 'I'd like it more if you came with me.' The whole point of tonight was to be with Roxy for every bit of it so it only made sense that everything they did was together. Like be excited together about gifts. Charlene accepted the kiss with a smaller, more pleased smile, and carried on with eating the sushi in front of her while her penguin went around the kitchen to get everything ready. Then she stood to follow along, hoping that Roxy continued to show off that strange landwalker grace that allowed them to walk around on these legs without falling or dropping everything they carried. And yet it was still Roxy who had an easier time getting up the stairs than Charlene. She was convinced that no matter how many years she spent doing things like this she would never, ever be used to using stairs.
When Roxy stopped it was hard for Charlene, who had been right on her heels, to stop before she ran into, but she managed it. Then she slid ahead of her and in, stopping to run her hand along Roxy's side as she went. Oh... Her hand came up to her mouth to cover a gasp as she stopped dead in her tracks and stared at the canvas's that were sitting there, just waiting for her. And not just those! But one of the art kits that she had stared at longingly when she was in one of their stores, knowing that they needed too much of their money for it and that just walking out with it was not possible. The mermaid was down to poke at the whole thing before she could take a breath, and then she saw the necklace. If she could have squealed in this form then she very well might have and the only reason she did not put it on immediately was because she was busy staring at it. Once she had finished with that she clasped it around her neck, turning to direct a huge smile at Roxy when she followed her in. Bouncing to her feet - or really stumbling up, nearly tripping over her own feet in the process, Charlene helped take the plates and such from Roxy's arms, setting them on the nearest surface so that she could slide her arms around her neck and kiss her firmly to show just how much she did like every one of the gifts.
