Despite the fact that the outfit she had in her bag was meant for torture, Daisy had to admit that it was exceptionally adorable. It made her wish that she had a female pet to spoil, or better yet, a way for her to fit into the outfit herself. Yes, Daisy would have gladly worn the sparkly dress. Today was going amazing so far. Getting to see Lida at the pet store had been icing on the cake. The other woman may have been an expert when it came to plants, but Daisy was a wiz when it came to animals. It wasn’t that she had ever worked with animals or studied animals for any length of time; all the knowledge that she had was from spending hours upon hours window shopping at the pet store. She hoped that Lida would be happy with the kitten she picked out, even if it hadn’t been particularly thrilled with Lida to begin with. Personally, Daisy had never met an animal that didn’t take to her from the second she picked it up, but she was sure that the pet would come to love her friend. Lida was too friendly for it not to! She couldn’t stop thinking about how the kitten would be a great reason for her to see the redhead again without randomly bumping into her in town. Maybe she could arrange a play date between the cat and Bandit! Daisy hadn’t even called Lida to see if she was interested and already she was getting excited. There were no words to describe how happy she was to be out of the cloud of despair she had been walking in for the past few days, and she had Joseph to thank for that. She would happily stand up to anyone who claimed he was a bad boyfriend. When she reached home, Daisy crept through the front door as silent as possible. She didn’t even bother to take two steps into the house before bending over and removing her giant heels. There was really no reason for her to be so sneaky. Even if Bandit had walked around the corner and spotted her, it wasn’t as though he could read her mind and find out what she was up to. She pulled her hair back out of her face before she set her bag on the floor and balled up the outfit in her hand. Tiptoeing, she walked through the living room, looking for Joseph. When she didn’t spot him, a grin spread across her face. Daisy wasn’t worried about him stopping her; she was more concerned about surprising him later once the deed was done. Time to get started. If Daisy had had enough forethought, she would have set up a video camera to record the show that was about to begin. “Oh Baaaaandy! I’ve got a surprise for you!” She started moving through the house, looking in all the hiding spots that Bandit tended to frequent. Her intention was to catch him off guard, but she had ruined all chances of that when she yelled his name loud enough that the neighbors would likely heard her. |
