There was nothing that Dalila liked lately. The revelation of the homecoming court nominations had been what had done it. Her brother was up for King and he had been there for a few weeks. Really? Rico? Dalila loved her brother and all, but seriously? He had done nothing to deserve that! And everyone else on that list was a joke except for maybe Charlotte. Charlotte really did a lot and she was a decent person, but Dalila was not being rational right now. When her emotions got in the way she was like one of those streams that formed in the driveway when it was pouring rain and went whichever way they wished until the storm had passed. What was certain was that she was not talking to anyone and she did not want them to talk to her either. When people tried at school she honestly did not hear them. Dalila had blocked her telepathic abilities out as best as she could and while it had meant a trip to the principal's office because her literature teacher was positive that she was completely ignoring her to make the class laugh. 'YOU NEED TO STOP SULKING.'
I'm not sulking.
'YES YOU ARE. YOU ARE STRETCHED OUT ON YOUR BED STARING AT THE CEILING AND IMAGINING WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF THE WHOLE COURT WENT OFF A BRIDGE.'
Not the whole court... I don't want Darklis or Rico, or I guess Charlotte, to go over. Dalila was about to add a few more specifications when her phone went off. She had gotten a few texts from Darklis already and they had left her thinking that the vampire was drunk. Or high. Had she not said that if she drank psychic blood then she would go on a trip? 'HEY. PAY ATTENTION TO ME. YOU DON'T NEED THE FANGER.' Dalila rolled her eyes at Jaws as she debated whether or not she was going to pay attention to the text and the vampire in her driveway. Technically Darklis had been nominated to court - Dalila had been one of the people to do it, but her whole point was that Darklis had and she had not. The water elemental had deliberately been avoiding all of them, but none of them had showed up outside. Drunk. Fine.
Rolling out of bed, Dalila pulled her sandals back on, suddenly glad that she had not gotten ready for sleep yet, and padded out the door and down the hall. Everyone in the house was not asleep yet, but no one seemed to wonder what she was doing. Making a face, and telling Jaws to not start shouting at the whole house or else she would flush him down the toilet, Dalila pulled the door open and headed out to where Darklis was. Stopping a little short of her she tilted her head to the side, unable to keep an amused smirk off her face. "Did you have something that didn't agree with you, sweetheart? Or did it agree with you really well? Goddamn, you can do that legally, can't you? Jealous."
